No it will not, you will have to connect it each time. It will run in the background once connected. It will disconnect once you either disconnect it on the app, or unplug the power to the device.

I have used a Paradox build and it makes it much easier, as if one source goes down there is always a back up!

I cannot recommend enough a paradox build for KODI, it has pre-installed the majority of useful add-ons.
