Unreal support today. Absolutely amazing. I was looking good for a 3.15 until 30km (the unofficial start of the race!!). Bonked and the last 12km wasn’t pretty. Still came in with a PB of 3.26 plus change. Well done to all those who took part and especially those who volunteered. Did I...

I’ve bought a pair of Superblast for my Brighton marathon block and have put about 250km on them. Absolutely superb shoe, perfect for easy and goal pace work ( I still switch up to the trusty Endorphin Speed for faster sessions). Would work perfectly as a daily trainer. Only slight negative...

Did anyone manage to bag a pair of Nike Alphafly 3's in the Proto drop yesterday? I didn't even try, but very keen to get my hands on the next release, hopefully in time for Brighton Marathon. There is conflicting info online, some saying Feb, some saying as late as April. The 3rd...

Did the Hurtwood 50k today. Starts in Dorking then out up over Leith Hill , Holmbury Hill and Pitch Hill……….Then back over them on the way back! My Garmin was showing 1300m of ascent and I felt every metre!! Very muddy/slippy, very wet and very tough, but superb aid stations and volunteers...

    [Help] Hernia surgery

I had both sides done about 10yrs ago. Was only due to have one side done but whilst surgeon was in there he decided to do both! From what I recall recovery was uncomfortable for a few days but pretty quick after that. Not had any issues whatsoever since. Good luck !

Southend Pier Marathon today. That’s right, 26.2 miles on the worlds longest pleasure pier. Up and down 22 times. Was a mental slog more than anything, pretty stiff breeze was also challenge. Clear blue skies and sunshine tho, would have been grim and if raining. Another unique and well put...

Kelvin Kiptum has only gone and obliterated the Marathon World Record in Chicago. 2.00.35 knocking 34 seconds off Kipchoges record. This is the guy who ran the 2nd half of London in 0.59.47 in April. Absolutely bonkers, he’s only 23yrs old, surely it’s a case of when, not if he goes under...

Sorry to here this - thank God for technology tho. If you didn't have an ECG on the wrist you might have just pushed on through. Wishing you a speedy recovery - but enjoy the break - you've banked a few rest days!

Missed the game yesterday as I was taking part in the South Coast Ultra 100k. My first (and possibly last) time at the distance ! 😂 The course runs from Polegate to Arundel and takes in all the lumps and bumps along the way. Tough going in the humid heat. But got round in 17hrs. And It’s...

[Albion] Sir Glenn Is Moving In Down the Road.

Did you know that the pub name “Royal Oak” originated after King Charles II hid in an Oak Tree on his way to the port of Shoreham (yes that Shoreham) before hopping into a dinghy and fleeing to France in 1651. Apparently it’s the 3rd most popular pub name in the U.K. A nice factoid for...
