This along with Natural Born Killers are the two films I can't rewatch purely because of their aesthetic. Not so much to do with the content, I appreciate the artistic merits of both, but something about the filming style leaves me nauseous.

First ones that came to mind are Preston and Bristol City, both seem to have spent a decade pretty much midtableish. Long term I think it was Rochdale that spent nearly 40 years in div 4/div 3/ league 2. EDIT: just seen you mentioned bands, these are more just division based.

Kind of agree. I thought the acting in the first one was also far far superior, with a cast of British movie/Hollywood regulars and then the second one in the school was like watching an episode of Grange Hill with the acting level of some of the teachers/kids. Took me out of it a bit...
