This along with Natural Born Killers are the two films I can't rewatch purely because of their aesthetic.
Not so much to do with the content, I appreciate the artistic merits of both, but something about the filming style leaves me nauseous.
As a kid in the 90s -The Marios, Wolfenstein 3D, Doom
As a teenager- GTA Vice City/ S.A, Pro Evolution soccer
As an adult-RDR2 basically ruined all other games for me it was so good.
Cultural thing mate. Getting your selfie with 'whoever' is more important than the actual experience for a lot of the locals over here.
Same at concerts where they'll drop over $200 to see someone, then piss off halfway through after they've taken a video for tiktok of the one song they want to...
Supposed to be going to a Packers game at Lambeau this winter as well as plans for the World Cup next year. At the moment i'm not thinking about changing plans but will see what the situation is closer the time. Certainly keeping an eye on it all.
Brando
De Niro
Day Lewis
Oldman
Bale
Considine
Gary Oldman in True Romance is the only performance where I literally couldn't believe it was the actor. I thought there was a mistake in the cast list I was reading. Unreal.
Stevie G is on his way to that rarified atmosphere for sure.
'Basil doesn't bet anymore do you dear?'
'No, no, that particular avenue of pleasure has been closed off.'
'And we don't want it opened up again do we, Basil.'
'No, you don't dear.'
First ones that came to mind are Preston and Bristol City, both seem to have spent a decade pretty much midtableish.
Long term I think it was Rochdale that spent nearly 40 years in div 4/div 3/ league 2.
EDIT: just seen you mentioned bands, these are more just division based.
Kind of agree. I thought the acting in the first one was also far far superior, with a cast of British movie/Hollywood regulars and then the second one in the school was like watching an episode of Grange Hill with the acting level of some of the teachers/kids. Took me out of it a bit...
