    Dear Chris,

We need to talk about Leon.

Let's get one thing straight - we are Brighton & Hove Albion, not Real Madrid. We are a relatively small, if surprisingly well-supported, football club that has spent most of its 114 year life knocking around the nether regions of the Football League.

Forty-six clubs, exactly half of the magic 92, have

It was another frustrating, and goalless, night at the Amex as table-toppers Bournemouth took another big step towards the Premier League with Albion fans looking on with a touch of envy.

It's not all bad though, and here's why:

    1. Wigan didn't win.

That's another 2 points dropped by one of this season's promotion favourites, who are now nearing the Mission: Impossible stage of their battle to avoid the drop. They are 9 points behind Albion with a massively inferior goal difference. One

Today (8th April 2015), Worthing was graced by a visit from a very special guest, in “Gillette Soccer Saturday” and Sky Sport’s very own Jeff Stelling. Jeff Stelling is supporting Southern finalist Kevin Clarke in the People's Pundit, championed by the Carlsberg Fan Squad, and came to visit him in his local pub to give him some top tips on punditry.

Full respect to the regular away fans - The Argus tells me the last away goal from open play was at Fulham last year. There appeared to be no conviction that was going to change at Rotherham.

Nobody said it was going to be easy. Following two confidence-boosting wins, the Albion travelled to the North West hoping to erase memories of their previous excursion to Lancashire, which resulted in a depressingly uninspiring 1-0 defeat to equally uninspiring opposition. A professional match report would, therefore, tease this out, detailing accurately the events of the day in Bolton, before revealing the outcome (perhaps including a spot of insightful analysis) at the end.

But come on! That’s not what you read North Stand Chat for, is it? Let’s

On St Valentine’s Day in Yorkshire, the Albion and Sheffield Wednesday treated their respective supporters to the footballing equivalent of some out-of-date Matchmakers and a bunch of wilted carnations from a petrol station. The Seagulls’ misfiring strikeforce continued the theme of the day by serving up a score of - in tennis terms at least - love. Again.

675 away fans made the 450 odd mile round trip, largely in less-than-expectant mood, for a contest between the lowest scorers in the Championship, and the notoriously impotent

Many fans have, in the past, found reason to gently mock local newspaper sports king, Andy Naylor, for the perceived quality of his Albion coverage. Well mock no more, folks, as by the time you read this, there is highly likely to be a two page spread in today’s Argus documenting the events of last night’s goalless draw with Cardiff City. And, frankly, anybody who can stretch a commentary of this game to two pages of a newspaper, deserves a Pulitzer Prize and a large beer.

So- without actually having seen the report- bravo to you, Mr Naylor.

There was a moment during the second half of Brighton and Hove Albion’s narrow loss to FA Cup holders Arsenal which encapsulated everything which is great about Rohan Ince.

After a dogged pursuit of Arsenal’s Alexis Sanchez, Ince extended one of his telescopic limbs and executed a perfectly timed sliding tackle on the Gunners’ talisman before rising to his feet and starting an Albion attack with a graceful canter

Can we just switch next weekend’s game to Griffin Park?

A third consecutive capital outing and a third straight win for Nathan Jones/ Chris Hughton’s men means that a day trip to London is more popular with Albion fans right now than Chas ‘n Dave at a Cockney knees up. Roll out the barrel, for while it’s still early days in the post-Hyypia regime

Maybe someone asked for the wrong Crystal Palace striker.

It sounded like a nasty rumour at first, but we hear there could be more to it than that and Andy Johnson, a man who very probably gets considered as a Crystal Palace legend, could be heading South down the M23 to bolster Chris Hughton's attacking

On January 26th 2013 Arsene Wenger brought his Premier League stars to face Gus Poyet's play-off chasing team. It was a thrilling tie: Olivier Giroud twice gave Arsenal the lead, with the Albion levelling through Ashley Barnes and Leonardo Ulloa, the latter playing in his debut.

After Saturday's smash-and-grab win at Brentford, the Albion will be ball number 21 in the draw for the fourth round of the FA Cup - the sixth consecutive season we have reached this stage of the competition.

The draw will be televised live on BBC1 at 7:30pm on Monday night, ahead of the AFC Wimbledon v Liverpool third round tie.

It has taken a Premier League team to knock us out on each of the previous five years, with Hull City putting paid to Oscar Garcia's side in a fifth round replay last season,
