My bolding. Being pedantic. But we no longer HAVE to take "precautions".

HMG under advice from scientists has removed the statutory obligations for social distancing, wearing of facemasks etc.

What precautions you take are now a matter of personal choice.

I totally get those "moaning" about individuals or organisations who are so paranoid that they want to impose rules and regulations that even HMG and their scientists accept are no longer required.

I don't know but imagine they would have considered that - the patients she is working with on the trial are all palliative (terminal) anyway (not sure of that makes any difference).

Oh, ok. I wasn't going to rise to your obvious trolling but I'll bite.

I was sitting outside of The Albert about a month ago when a protest came up the road. It was the same anti vax/lockdown protest that had earlier forced a mobile vaccination off of Hove Lawns earlier in the day.

There were about 100 or so protesters. For some reason they stopped outside The Albert and decided to berate everyone who was sitting there (who were minding their own business) for being a sheep, wearing a mask, telling us to open our eyes etc etc. The protesters seemed to be a mix of anti vax, anti lock down, conspiracy theorists (Bill Gates, 5G and Q Anon placards). Some of the group then decided to break off, flyer the tables and engage with people who were sitting there in an anti vax debate. After politely telling one of them to **** off I then had to actually tell them to **** off. At that point the bar staff came over and also told them to do one and the scuttled off up the road.

I've also had the misfortune of coming across a protest in London In answer to your question the type of protester I saw at both protests was a collection of people with similar views but coming from a variety of stand points and was in line with what I'd been reading and seeing on the news.

I don't particularly care if you do or don't get a vaccine. You are in the minority and its up to you if you want to run the risk of getting sick, thankfully the NHS will be there to pick up the pieces if things go south. What I don't understand is why you need to bother me about it? Its my right to have the vaccine and take precautions as much as it yours to not.

What I do care about is getting back to some sort of normality and being able to go and see my football club. If that means spending an extra couple of minutes sorting out the paper work and having an additional check to ensure peoples safety then I'm ok with that, it feels like a small price to pay. If you're not ok with that then stay home and watch it on TV. It really is that simple.

Sorry, but we do HAVE to take precautions if we wish to enter private premises and they are required. We have just dropped our dog at the groomers and there is a sign requiring people to wear masks. The Albion also have rules that we HAVE to follow. Unless you are on the board you have no say in what those rules are. So you HAVE to follow them or do something else.

I'm not anti-vaccination. I have had 2 jabs. I have never said one thing against the vaccination ever

Therefore you will have (or have access to get) a digital Covid Pass or a paper one, which you can get in The Amex with. It will take them all of 10 seconds to match this to your photo ID. What's your problem?

I am not sure you are absolutely correct, plenty of scientists and medical people have warned against reducing the restrictions too early.

I suspect the government asked the lead scientists a question around the numbers likely to be hit and once armed with information they deemed it ok to proceed.

You emphasise the 'need' to take precautions and conflating a legal position and a common sense one.

The government has missed out on common sense in many of its decisions and its recent decision to allow night clubs to open unrestricted until October when they will then be forced to check for Covid jabs is a classic example of this. What makes their decision more daft is that the rates are likely (hopefully) going to be lower by then.

People like me are not asking for lockdowns , but are asking for people to think about the many who are vulnerable. Wearing a mask should not be an issue for most.

I agree with this generally but what's the point in asking the scientists?

They've generally been pretty wrong and you don't need to Brain of Britain to say that if you have a lockdown less people are going to catch it.

All they would be looking for is confirmation of the above.

But as the vaccine makes you less likely to get it, then vaccinated people are less likely to pass it on.
