Probably best you do stay away for the season to be honest.
why do you say that, it's personal choice for people looking at the figures there are millions of people who haven't had vaccine

Fair enough you feel like that mate, always nice to be treated differently based on health status.

Being vaccinated doesn’t stop you being able to spread the virus, this is what I don’t understand as to why a vaccination passport can ever be a thing - testing beforehand I can understand to a degree, but a vaccine passport when you can still transmit whilst vaccinated is insane.

Yes they are. I picked up a couple of boxes last week as I'm being asked to do them regularly for work.

Thanks ..last time I used them was for visits to a nursing home ..the club statement clearly sets out requirements..be interesting to see if the bottle necks occur as u approach the stadium

so in theory I (double vaccinated person) could enter the Amex with no signs of Covid but actually be a carrier and pass it onto the person sat next to me who isn't vaccinated but passed the lateral flow test 9am that morning. If everything is to be believed I could be potentially killing that person if they are of a certain age or has a pre-existing health condition.

I'm not vaccinated either and I don't see this as an issue.

Just stock up on lateral flow tests and do them before match days. It takes 5 minutes to get a covid pass, really no dramas.

If the club expected everyone to get vaccinated then that would be a massive issue - but this is a reasonable compromise and not a lot of effort for non-vaccinated peoples.

This is just the club, not the Government. There is (currently ahead of any U-Turn) the suggestion that only double jabbed will be allowed into large events from 1 October, so you may want to attend as many games as possible now, before being excluded.

LFT are nonsensical really, you can just put water on the test and get a negative result. Not saying thats acceptable but let’s be honest, it’s a flawed system if you can do that. I’ve had a covid test a couple of times and had horrendous nose bleeds after both, put me off massively.

So I’ll take the test on a Friday morning, go clubbing on a Friday night then off to the Amex on the Saturday afternoon…. :lolol:

It is personal choice, and no one is being forced to take the vaccine. However, uptake amongst adults in the UK is approaching 90%, so people choosing to not take it may number in the millions, but they're certainly a minority.

Being vaccinated does reduce transmission by around 50%. More importantly it reduces chances of serious illness by about 95%, which is why I'd be very wary about travelling to a game attended by 30K if I hadn't been vaccinated.

This. Agree with the policy and think the lateral flow test part is pointless.

Me neither, and I wont be any time soon.

I'm tempted to follow in The Wizard's footsteps and ask the club to pause my ticket too to be honest. All of this is way over the top.

I could just take a flow test (once I figure out how!) but what happens in October when/if they decide that tests alone are not enough?

If someone from a vulnerable group hasn't had the vaccine, it is their massive risk going to the football, not yours. There will be hundreds if not thousands of carriers at the game - it is possible they will be infected by more than one.

Probably a more sensible approach would be having everyone do a lateral flow test, rather than vaccine status.

LFT cost around £5 each to the NHS/Government, the cost of this over the course of the season would be absolutely astronomical, I was at ASDA hollingbury the other day and they were handing them out on the door!

or only having people who are 'protected' allowed in. ie October date. Both work but as stated before the lateral flow tests are not entirely accurate/easily faked.

At least we don't have to wear masks in our seats. I am not anti mask but as a wearer of glasses it is a bloody nightmare.

It’s a bit over the top but if you have a pint in hand at all times then no need for masks . Can’t see it being strictly enforced anyway as most people will carry on as usual . If it is then just have a drink in hand at all times

As for the trains . Not enforceable now so just carry on . Plenty of singing and shouting like before

doesnt completely stop but does substantially inhibit the spread. thats why we're pushed to vaccinate. if you have virus without vaccination you will be infectious, if vaccinated you might be infectious, with a weakend virus. if 99% get vaccinated, its basically gone; if 85% get vaccinated it continues in the population forever. your "choice" affects the rest of society.
