Yeah I see nothing there that suggests Andone's capable of scoring 10 PL goals this season. Compared to the likes of Tau and Mwepu who were busy, energetic and contributed goals...He seemed to have lost a yard of pace , was a step behind every attacking move and was just constantly berating.....pretty much everyone. That was just one pre-season friendly so it's still early days but I don't think we're gonna be seeing him starting against Burnley.

Exactly this. I like the fact that he's demanding the ball and telling teammates where they should have run. Shows he wants to get goals and assists.

Yup his teammates don't have to listen.....he's not the manager. He does offer a different option though.

Alzate is such a dream of player. Just wish he'd contribute a little more. He's got it all potentially.

I really like Alcatel as a midfielder, but he dose give the ball away , if I remember last season against Everton gave the ball away a couple of times which resulted in goals , I think this is why did not play him much last season

Very much wish they'd pay Hawesy whatever (probably modest) fee he'd command to do the commentary.

"Albion win three to one"
"Albion fans will be familiar with him" (one of our own players)
"Your Albion score"
etc etc

My vote would be for one of NSCs very own who is rather good at that sort of thing

Good performances from quite a few in that game, notably Lallana, Mwepu, Maupay and Connolly first half, Tau, Steele Duffy second. Really impressed with the development of Richards and Tsoungui and a special mention for the young sweaty, Leonard.

I must confess I had written Tau off.

But that goal... that celebration...

Legend in the making.

so far, he seems to fit in the Ali J category....would be sensational in the championship, produces moments of class, but hasnt shown enough to be a consistent PL level starter.

Rally like Karbo, who looks like he's added a touch of bulk to his frame. Was pretty solid and neat today.

Not sure what to make of Zeqiri, didnt get much of the ball, he's such a great personality, obvs not a natural LB which is where he seems to play for us, flashes of something quite good combined with flashes of headless chicken....... needs patience if our plan is to use ihim moer as a LB, but we need a proper LB to compete with Solly.

Was a good game. Impressed by Alzate & Östigård in the second half, and the goal from Tau was nice.

Andone moaning on his teammates in a team where one of the foundations is to be brave... I dont see it working out, despite him allegedly turning into some kind of world class player during his 1,5 year injury absence.

pleased for Duffy - thought he played ok though needed to have buried that free header.... looked a lot better than BDB to me.

Mwepu is quite impressive. Andone shows a lot of passion, something we need.

Thoughts: minutes for March. ‘The Computer’ looks decent. Andone always seems to be in a mood. Tau looked up for it. Was great to see Duffy again and I thought he was better than BDB. Karbo had flashes going forwards, just needs to work on his defensive game. Swiss Andy is not a left back. Østigård is decent enough back up. The 4-4-2 diamond has potential and I wonder if it will replace the back 3 now White has gone.

Steele had a good half.
Ostigard looks decent and composed (unless there's a signing who dramatically improves us, we have our BW replacement right there)
Liked the look of Tsoungui and Leonard, could easily cut it in the Championship with loans.
Tau looked lively, decent goal, but it was only Luton.
Mwepu looks class, full of energy
Alzate looked good, looks to me likes he's bulked up quite a bit.

OK, you don't have to worry if you don't want to. With only one more game before the real stuff starts, I'd like to have seem something looking more like a first choice starting XI for the first half. Will be interesting to see how we shuffle the defence now that White's gone - I hope Duffy's not the answer.

I can agree its a bit worrying with Webster & Dunk out (despite the many alternatives) with only two weeks to go until the first game.

On a positive note, the first opponent will be Burnley and if Dunk and/or Webster cant play, it is a type of opposition that really suits Duffy as he can stand there and head away their hoofballs day in day out.

Wouldnt be surprised to see a not-so-sexy solution where Duffy stays to the end of the month (before hopefully? being transferred or loaned out), to provide some additional experience while Webster & Dunk get back and return to full fitness. Duffy starting against both Rangers and Luton is indicating he could be involved as the season begins.

As I've said earlier though, it might be very difficult to sell or get a loan deal for Duffy and I wouldnt be shocked if he remains in the squad even as the transfer window closes. Wouldnt be optimal but not the worst thing either.

Love Andone, always have, yes he's a moany, moody ****er, but we need players who aren't happy with only being a couple of goals up. His work for Tau's goal was also very good, held off the defender, played Percy through then got himself in the box, giving Tau another option plus drawing a couple of defenders away from Tau which created the space, Tau did really well to score that but the part Andone played was just as important. Glad Tau did score cos Andone would still be moaning at him now if he hadn't :lolol:
