Initial thought is Villa are stuffed without Grealish. Then realise they have £100m to play with so will be absolutely fine.

He clearly has talent and is the Villa main man. That said I can't help but feel there is an element of Emperor's new clothes about him. Imagine if they properly used VAR - he'd be banned most of the season for simulation. I think he'd be a much better footballer if he tried to stay up, but 'buying' fouls is easier than using you skills.

100 million is a joke for any player, however I get the feeling he could become the most expensive bench dweller in football - his Euro 2020 role but for City.

Financial fair play is a scam, so it doesn't matter what they spend as they are super rich and will find a way around it.

Citeh could be looking at the forward line that many wanted Southgate to select for England: Grealish, Foden, Kane.

If City are spending £100m that will be with a clear intention to play him. Fully accept that England reached the Euro finals in a very business-like and pragmatic fashion so Southgate gets full plaudits for that but I still believe a talent like Grealish should be on the pitch changing games rather than sat on the bench for 70 minutes, watching them.

I make a lot of comparisons between Grealish and Matt Le Tissier, very similar in many ways as players, both super skillful, adept at beating players, setting up chances for others, great at set ball situations etc.

Matt of course spent his whole career at Southampton, l wonder if the similarities will continue.

If there run when he was out following their game at the Amex is an indication then we would finish above them

If Veltman could be swapped around all Villa's opponents for the season, they'd finish bottom on nul points.

I don't remember Le Tiss avoiding jail just because he's a footballer.

Very much my concern for him too, after all, our Jack does lovge to be the centre of attention. Bit difficult being that when seated on the bench.

As much as I think Grealish is a bellend for some of his off-field antics*, I doubt he'll go full-blown, raving crackpot like Le Tiss with his Covid conspiracy theories

*not to mention his diving & play-acting

Yes, it should cushion the blow of relegation and see them challenging for another Wembley appearance.

I'd chuckle almost as hard if that happened as if Palace went down having knocked down their main stand and then stopped building work because of a lack of funds.

I think we’ve seen from his England appearances that he was told to fall over all the time at Villa. I’m hoping he’ll turn out to be better than that.

I think Pep would be livid if City's attacks break down with sock boy on the floor with his arms out after 'falling over'. They will want a lot more football out of him.

I'm amazed that the likes of City and United can afford these big transfer fees after the £3.6m fine they had to fork out.

I recall many NSC’ers predicting a changed EPL when the super league collapsed, as the other 14 clubs had them by the goolies. Fan power at the 6 to come to the fore.

I predicted Citeh and Chelsea spending yet more, with Mansour and Abramovich retaining Godly status..

Even the Glazer’s have cottoned on. A token fans representation now, BUT FAR MORE IMPORTANTLY, a spending spree has begun with Sancho and Varane.

Green & Gold forgotten, the new order is …… ManC, ManU & Chelsea. Some familiar club names in there.

Not sure it's by any means certain that he'll go to City.

Villa are supposedly offering him £200,000 per week to stay, and while City will no doubt offer to double that, there's no guarantee that he'll be a starter for them. He might be like a more talented version of Zaha: happy to be the big fish in the small pond forever. That said, Zaha never got offers from top clubs, so perhaps the fact that it's Man City will tempt Sock Boy. While Villa are evidently trying to spend lots of money again, I'm not convinced Dean Smith is much of a manager: maybe Grealish isn't either.
