I wonder "if I don't have a smartphone" whether you just get a physical season ticket again with your photo on. Which would facilitate easier sharing of tickets (can't believe stewards are going to be checking id every single time!)...

I’m not sure what your issue is but this was all addressed to you yesterday. I can imagine that people in Burnley might not have smart phones and passports, but that’s your problem…it isn’t ours.

Besides, Brighton have previously indicated many alternative forms of ID for those without passport and/or driving license. And the club are doing a pretty good job addressing all this in very challenging times.

Can't blame the club(s) for trying to cut down on admin costs I suppose, bearing in mind the horrendous losses suffered in the past 18 months. Tho IMHO would be more fan-friendly if take-up was organic rather than enforced

I rang the club this morning as I don't have (or want) (so far) a smartphone. I also have no way of sending a scan of my passport or a digital pic of my face. They were extremely helpful. I am posting a old fashioned paper photo-copy of my passport details and one of those polaroid piccy things of my face. They will send me a smart card with my picture on.

Besides protecting revenue, the rules on bringing ID to venues and stadiums was tightened up after the Manchester bombings.
It’s a positive thing and is worth the extra diligence.

Just out of interest, a few years back our then owners tried making season tickets non-transferable. They were surprised how many people share tickets - they only go on half the games, or one can't do any day but saturday and his mate does all the others, or shift workers, or parents who take turns accompanying the child depending who has custody that week, grandparents who don't really want to go but the child loves it, etc etc. In the end they scrapped the whole scheme and said anyone can use a season ticket as long as they are in the right age category or cheaper.

Does anything like that happen down your way?

to apple pay wallet. That worked. So now I just scan that ticket in my wallet on entry to the Amex - right?

Yes on match day as you approach the turnstiles you open up Apple Wallet and select the ticket. Then when at the turnstile just tap the ticket to the turnstile reader and it is read contactlessly (unless you've got an ancient iPhone then you'll get a barcode to scan). On my iPhone if I double press (2 quick presses) on the power button (on the right-hand side of the phone) it launches the wallet.

Exactly how Apple Pay works in shops, open wallet and select debit/credit card then tap it to the contactless reader to pay.

Actually transfer of a season ticket without the consent of the club is banned under the terms & conditions on your website. I believe the transfer of football tickets without the permission of the club is actually banned by law.

3. Use of Season Ticket

3.1 Subject to clause 3.2, below, Season Tickets are issued for your sole use and you shall not sell, dispose of, assign, transfer, lend or otherwise deal with the Season Ticket or the benefit of it to any other person without the prior written consent of the Club. Further you shall not use the Season Ticket for any commercial purpose. The reference to selling the Season Ticket includes: (a) offering to sell a Season Ticket (including, without limitation, via any website or online auction site); (b) exposing a Season Ticket for sale; (c) making a Season Ticket available for sale by another person; (d) advertising that a Season Ticket is available for purchase, which for the avoidance of doubt (and by way of example only) means that this Season Ticket may not be offered as a prize in any promotion or competition; (e) transferring, lending or selling a Season Ticket to any third party as part of a hospitality or travel package; and (f) giving (or offering to give) a Season Ticket to a person who pays or agrees to pay for some other goods or services (or offers to do so); all save as expressly authorised by the Premier League or the Club.

No where in the T&Cs (that I can see) does it mention being able to pass the ticket on to someone else in the same age group.

Every club will have this paragraph in their T&C's but on the whole have turned a blind eye to casual sharing among groups of friends in the past, but obviously with the need to know who is in attendance for track and trace purposes they are going to be trying to stop this where possible.

We've got two systems in place this season to enable tickets to be used by people other than the ticket holder. Season ticket sharing where you can officially pass the ticket onto another Albion member who is on your friends and family list. This will mean the club has the name and address of the person taking the ticket. The other option is to list it for sale on the ticket exchange (this only becomes available if the match is sold out) again the details of the person who purchases the ticket will be with the club.

I haven't checked it with any legal eagles, but I've got a feeling that this applies (technically, but generally ignored) to all tickets - cinema, train, festival or whatever. Of course, if you're buying for your family or a group of friends, they're much happier selling a bunch of tickets at once rather than wasting time forcing everyone to queue up personally to by their own ticket separately, so they very sensibly ignore the technicality.

I have purchased two tickets for getafe friendly for me and the misses. I was sent the link to add to apple wallet. It downloaded one but won’t do the other as it says you can only have one ticket per match on it. Trying to get hold of club but been four hours trying to buy ticket let alone trying to get answer to this. They are supposed to be ringing me back but it takes them forever. Any help would be appreciated
