2009 was a dead rubber.Last match of the qualifying campaign with England safely through. A forgettable game.
Ukraine seemed to have gone down hill for a while, but they are a different beast now. Those rascals have spiwit.

About half past eleven.
I have no doubt regardless of the result people will moan about how Southgate didn’t pick this player or that player, or that we’re not playing like Brazil 1970 and winning 3 or 4-0 like they do when on FIFA.. for no good reason as we’ve never performed like that as an England team.
I’ll be happy to get through the tie and would not be surprised at any spoiler tactics from Ukraine to make it as difficult as possible for us. They would love nothing more than to force a red card, because on ability we should beat them.
So it could be a nervy 1-0 win or 2-1. Patience and calm heads will be required. If we go out then I may consider criticising the manager. But as long as we get through the tie it’s job done as far as I’m concerned.

And that’s it. No much vaunted checking that you’ve not cheated the Italian quarantine system, or that you only arrived say yesterday. Or even this morning. Loads of tents around Rome where you could have got an instant lateral flow test today
Maybe there truly was an electronic tag in the ticket, but I’m not convinced. In all honesty, looks pretty much like anyone could have got in.
