Being proud of fans that seemed to behave like human beings apart from a few exceptions like booing the knee and anthems just goes to show what a bunch of knobheads England fans are or were.
When things are back to normal I fully expect England fans to do the same, classless chavs most of them.
Why should I be proud of people behaving like they should do and creating an atmosphere at home.

Great atmosphere, sullied but not spoilt by the lame booing of the German anthem. Superb night down the pub with only positive support for England, I was happy to be a part of it. Not scintillating football, but a well executed plan by the better team, we deserved the win tonight and I shall enjoy the rest of the week!

If you need me to explain what’s racist about booing a national anthem then clearly booing is for you!

It maybe distasteful and disrespectful but it’s not racist and people labelling it so simply undermine the fight against genuine racism. The Scottish anthem was booed but Scots aren’t a different race, simply a different nationality. Too many people attach the term racism to things now that aren’t racist at all.

I’m sure I’ve sung some fairly disrespectful songs about our Croydon neighbours over the past few years.

It’s a football game, not an invitation to afternoon tea.

 ….it doesn’t change the opinion that it is disrespectful to boo a national anthem…..am I bothered tonight about it? Not really too absorbed with the fact that we beat Germany and that the crowd were fantastic …imagine that game in an empty stadium.

I think the definition of racism has changed over the years to become something more than just about skin colour, but to be honest whether it was racist or nationalistic makes little difference, it is still born out of the same lack of respect for other races/nations.

It’s only a couple of minutes of your life, chat to a mate, go to the loo, anything really other than boo!

Ha ha!! What’s the bet that that second image is a staged photo using a replay of the goal...???

I do understand why some people might think that. I guess it’s a matter of context.

Booing the national anthem at a war memorial or national commemoration would be disrespectful.

Would I be offended by Ukrainian fans booing our national anthem on Saturday - no.

Would I be disappointed by any fans booing the act of taking the knee - yes.

I was there tonight with my two young kids. Every single person I came across was absolutely fantastic. Fantastic with the kids, moving out the way and lifting them up on to the row behind so they could see better, constantly making sure they were OK, fist bumping them and telling them how lucky they were etc. Not a hint of bother anywhere, and one of the best atmosphere’s I’ve ever experienced anywhere.

A superb experience all round, made even better by the fantastic England fans.

Anyone moaning about them for some bad things a minority of people did 30 years ago should get a life. Times change.

Extremely proud to be an England fan tonight.

Brighton fans are such bellends sometimes. So desperate to show how edgy and cool they are with their alternative opinions. I don’t think you get this with other clubs in this country.

Yep Most English football fans of English football clubs are ecstatic the England football team have just beat the Germans in a meaningful game and not finding something to moan about.
