If you re-phrase the 20m viewers can't be wrong claim, to 20m ITV viewers can't be wrong, it loses a lot of it's authority.

Barrymore was good at what he did, but if you didn't like what he did, he wasn't remotely funny. Some times, during lock-down, things have seemed a little bleak and it has been a comfort to count my blessings and think 'Well, this is bad, but at least its not a Tuesday evening in the late eighties and I've not had mince for dinner and am now sat in my parents' front room putting off homework whilst they watch 'Strike It Lucky'.'

All those involved need closure on this and, if Barrymore is cleared beyond reasonable doubt, he has suffered immensely by association for two decades. Before he went off the rails, he was hilariously funny in 'different times'. Whether he could have rebuilt his career after his very public problems is another matter.

Yep. I don't generally do 'light entertainment' but I found him to be very appealing.

A man dies from serious injuries at a house party attended by 8 just other people and 20 years on Essex police still haven’t solved this case.

That really is appalling.

This really sums it up. Those at the party were either involved or know who was or know what happened and we can only guess there was a wall of silence that has hindered the investigation. Assuming that is the case then I'm afraid Barrymore's fall from grace is the least he and his cohorts deserve.

Agreed. They haven't got a leg to stand on.

Put the pitchforks away. There has been jokes about every famous death since time began. (Ian St John died, Jimmy Grieves was the last one I heard). You may not find them funny but are you *really* offended? If you are genuinely offended don't whatever you do google Caroline Flack jokes or you will have a coronary.
