Anyone with idea what happened when he was through on goal? Was weird to go down in that situation.

Confidence I expect. He and the rest of them have missed time and time again this season. Midfield must be tearing their hair out. We have a midfield ripping teams to shreds. The best in over 40 years of watching this club by a long long way. But up front, sorry, they have just not converted the chances. It can't be swept under the carpet. They have to be honest enough to admit it and then go and do something to change it.

a galaxy far far away
Goal aside, it was a real return to form for Neal.

Long may it last

Disagree. It is given the amount of chances he (and the rest of the strikers) have had. They have all missed a hatful of chances. A striker must finish. his finishing has been below par. This midfield at Brighton is truly outstanding. But the strikers have all been poor. Hopefully the Keeper/set piece fault has now been sorted. Now focus on the strikers. If they keep missing then they have to go. It's in their hands, they will be given the chances. Imagine if we had a Ward or Zamora up front?

I disagree strongly.

Lack of confidence and looking for a pen?

His heel was clipped. The commentators thought it was because his shoulder was touched, but when he spoke to Friend he pointed to his heel.

Sorry Jimmy Grimble I meant to quote you too.

Even as a biased Albion fan I would not have given that as a pen though

Right place, right time. Great build up play between our most talented players on the ball and there's Neal to take the chance. He's a very good penalty area striker, we need to get him in the box more and we'll pick up more positive results.

Played ok today, clean simple finish and good movement. He needs to press on from here to get back on form though, he's way below his best.

I think it was the commentator in the City game last week that was astonished to announce that Neal Maupay reads books in the changing room.

For that reason, I am IN

Well in that case then the kid who scores 7 goals in a cub game is Messi. No, you cant look at one statistic ion isolation. You have to put it into context. If it was 7 goals under the last manager then he would be a bloody genius striker, but he is playing in a side that are ripping teams to pieces. Kevin Bremner and maybe even Richard Tiltman would score some goals in this team. The strikers have been wasteful. Maupay one of them. Not good enough, all to prove.

Putting the ball in an empty net after the Leeds defender switched off leaving him alone in the box was the least impressive bit of our wonderful footballing goal. Saying that I love his work ethic and sh*thousery but far from convinced he is Prem quality striker.

7 goals at the half way stage is decent, but given that 3 of these are pens, 4 from open play for our leading marksmen isn’t eart shattering.

Yep. We are a set of strikers and maybe a goalkeeper (too early to judge Ryan's replacement) off being a very, very good side. There is no way we should be looking at fighting relegation with the football we are playing.

The goal was one thing but that nice little bergkamp pass was something else. Very good performance overall today.

Surely 7 goals so far says he is PL quality
