When questioned on Sky about the very last Wolves chance that was missed. Dunk said "Yes, I'm going in the dressing room now to bash a few heads together."

I love watching our players gee each other up , it`s an important tool to keep on your toes . Everyone on the pitch should be encouraged to be vocal , but keep the negative crap until full time . If there`s a need for a rollicking do it at the end of the game , but it should be constructive not damaging . Big Dan didn`t need a mouthful for giving the pen away , he knew it , he needed support to finish the game . Just like a good manager knows when to put his arm round a players shoulder , or give him a rocket , so do good players imho . Verbally supporting each other has been one of our biggest attributes in the past , it`s great to see . Good on ya Neal .

If it's a sign of leadership and strong character, he'll be lucky not to get shipped out for the rest of the season. Maybe to Celtic or something

Yes cos Duffy has clearly had a great impact on Celtic!

No problem with him having words at half time, I’d expect the players to do that and it probably happens every week.

Just don’t know why he has to come out after and say “I said this, I said that”. His comments were very self indulgent. It was a collective effort that got us back in the match.

What I love even more is that he revealed this in the interview - an interesting post-match interview for a change!

Surprised this hasn't been mentioned (apologies if fixtures).

On MOTD last night there was a post match interview with a fired-up Maupay who said (I paraphrase) "I said to the players at half time that we need to fight for everything and I....."; it sounded like was saying he gave the team talk. I'm surprised the 'Potter OUT'ers haven't been all over this like a rash.

My take is this: love it. Can you imagine a team with Stuart Pearce in it where he sat meekly at half time while the manager did all the talking with the team 1-3 down?

The players let the manager down in the first half and they knew it. If part of the half time process was little Neal giving his team mates a sort of French-style bollocking, then good. It shows they care. And the pride showed in the second half

UTA!

It's what I keep saying, Potter is surplus to requirements.:rolleyes:

Maupay IN..

About time a player took some leadership. If Dunk has been it has not been showing.

Dunk has been off form. His strength in the past has been to lead by example , especially after he knows he should have done better. His passionate shouting at Sanchez when he made the great save was something we haven't seen also the two goals he has scored recently. Still not as good as he has been but playing in a different formation which probably does not suit him. Would definitely want to see him do more passing from the back rather than passes around the back. IF he is getting back to form that can only be good. His form in the Hypia season was a key part of keeping us up.

Dunk failed to snuff out the cross for their first goal as well as failing to block the cross for Wolves final chance, it might be his own head that needs bashing!

Well observed. His effort to block the cross on their first goal was uncharacteristically half hearted.

I loved Maupay’s passion but was alarmed that he went off at HT thinking that they (all the players) had so much more to give. For my money they should all be going on the pitch ready to bust their balls EVERY minute of EVERY half! They shouldn’t be needing a HT kick up the arse from Maupay. Incidentally, I’m still ‘Potter In’ but I do wonder if he’s got a decent motivational speech or bollocking in him!

Yep. I genuinely think it was because he had mentally decided that a corner would be more threatening than a cross from that angle. Given our weakness at corners it’s not inconceivable that was in his head.

It’s spelt Neil not Neal.
Come on HWT, that’s basic.

That’s great. We will need this in spades to stay up. Good management by Potter if he took a step back and let this happen naturally.

Good management if he was in control of situation - not so good if it happened out of his control. Would like to think it was a positive decision by him, but I have never seen any bite to him. Hopefully i have missed it?

The nice guy, weak potter , thing is overstated. He’s clearly no Roy Keane but there’s probably more bite to him than he shows to you and I .
Look at how ruthless he can be with players. The latest “Maty, you’ve played 150 games but I don’t fancy you anymore .....cheerio”. The players also know he has been given a massive contract by Tony. Potter has more power than most managers and will know that
However that second half came about , the side improved . That’s credit to the manager (for now )

Its good when players step up, showing that braveness GP talks endlessly about wanting to see. I dont think GP was quiet - he was probably quite angry - and I dont think Maupay was the only player to raise his voice either - would surprise me if the likes of Dunk and Webster didnt say anything - but if he wants to brag a little bit extra about his contribution, Im all for it: the man clearly is happy when he is the centre of attention and allowing him to be will get the best out of him.

Positively Knocky-esque then ............................

Come on Harry, if you take me off ignore you could see my quality posts, light year's before yours.:lol:

On the Potter In Out thread.

Potter still in.
I like Maupays spirit and energy, but I am not happy with his pumped up claims about how he motivated and inspired the Albions come back done on MOTD when interviewed.

How do you think Potter should deal with him? Slapped thighs, bottom or head?

Or of course we could make him manager???

come back from 3-1 down and almost win it. ANyone notice in the second half POTTERBALL WAS ABANDONED and a lot more direct shots into the box
