I guessed the tannoy was turned down so people didn’t sing GOSBTS too vociferously. Nice to back, well run by the club and it felt very safe. On the negative side, the atmosphere was very bizarre. It felt similar to Newport in the Checkatrade at times. Well done to the North and the corners for the noise that was generated.

Biggest highlight was zero queues for the gents and tiny queues for catering.

I’d go again for sure

Thought it was a bit quieter than the Chelsea game as it happens and after tutting at fans at other games who were singing with their masks below their nose I actually found it quite tricky keeping the mask over my hooter when singing or giving the referee some abuse. I can also get very used to the extra arm and legroom the current system affords. GOSBTS was definitely quieter than usual.

Just thought it was an interesting observation that people I know who would ordinarily have drunk beer were drinking bovril. Bovril the alcohol drinkers, hot drink of choice?

I had to resort to the mask below the nose as otherwise my glasses steamed up immediately and I couldn’t see anything. I hope they scrap the masks in seats rule.

It was only in the second half that I noticed you lot up there in that corner. Looked like you might feel quite isolated - is that how it felt being there?

Very. There were probably only about 40 people and it wasn’t exactly raucous.

I was going to ask about/mention that - the tannoy volume in the East seemed pretty quiet, I thought. From what you're saying, as a regular, I believe, that's not normally the case?

Maybe they had a mask over the Tannoy?

Tough to say either way for the general content.

But I'd wager the princely sum of 6 English pence that GOSBTS was most definitely quieter than usual.

I was in the North low down behind the goal (because Stat Brother took my seat...). Didn't even hear GOSBTS out of the speakers, I don't think many in the North did as we sung at mid game pace and finished a good 10secs before the East Stand did. :albion2:

Oh it turns out I didn't take your seat.

I would have done had I not actually booked into the next block along.
I was in JWP free kick territory, hence having the perfect angle to see their goal.

Wasn't there but it sounded good on the live stream. It was nice to hear some proper chants and not the dubbed rubbish. Also good to hear the referee get some abuse. I'd missed that.

I thought it was very good. No delays or bottlenecks, security guys not making a meal of it, the distancing an absolute model for other clubs to follow (I think many aren't). So we are lucky in that regard. And even the first 25 mins of football was good too.

Why didn't Gross take a shot second half with that free kick exactly in JWP territory? Any ideas?

Trying to make a game of it?
Didn't want to upset his old manager?
We're shite at direct free kicks?

It was a fair distance out.
I wasn't instantly saying 'he's gotta go for goal', a bit of trickery with the ball placement might have been needed if any of them thought 'I'll have a crack from here'.

Also props to the guy in the North Stand who kept shouting how much he loved Tariq and called Vestergaard a mutant :clap2:
