He's not going to settlle in and adjust if we're slagging him off before he even poses with the shirt.

Here's hoping that potential has been correctly identified and he can become the real deal. .

I just hope he comes with the right attitude and doesnt expect to be starting straight away. A taller, stronger version of Connolly could be quite an asset. Hopefully he's accepting that it will take time to get upto speed.

Although saying that, if Connolly and Maupay started against Everton I guess there's no reason why he couldnt already make the bench.

I’m excited by this if he’s our ‘fourth striker’ for this season. Far less so if he’s our third. Perhaps we really don’t have any money. A net transfer ‘gain’ of around £10M and a lot of big earners off the books would suggest so.

And lots of uwards salary reviews (eg Dunk and White and inevitably others) along with invisible payments such as the signing on fee we will have inevitably have had to pay to the Llama. All of which then deplete this supposed war chest we have been creating.

It is ridiculous to slag him before he has played, I agree

I’m willing to give him 15 mins on the pitch before I decide if he is shitehouse or brilliant

Shite for 30 mins and he’s getting virtual boos from me

I'd love us to now bring in an Origi type player, but I can also see why the club are hesitant. The club have spent this summer slimming down the squad & yet come the end of the season we would then have Maupay, Connolly, Zeqiri, Gyokeres, Andone, and the new signing to keep happy. Its a gamble, one that could see the club spend £20-30million unnecessarily. Right now it might seem imperative that we sign someone, but if Maupay, Connolly, Zeqiri, and Gyokeres can see us through to Christmas, we might then have Andone adding to our options and the £20-30million player could be seen as a luxury signing that wasnt so vital.

Brighton factually.....
if he gets a work permit then maybe he can give it to Percy Tau and he can hop on a train to Belgium instead and send Percy in our direction :)

You know what,,,, maybe that is the clubs thinking, maybe by the January window stipulations may change with this whole Brexit stuff included, he maybe eligible to come over. Alexis Mac allister came over in the Jan window and with Andone probably back in contention, we are hedging our bets until then, and if everything clicks, then it is pat on the back time for the recruitment team and club by not spending/wasting 23 million on a Brewster like player with a buy back clause of 23 million who in the end maybe a shitbarndoorbilly....

Hmm, if we had Shaqiri and Zeqiri in the team at the same time, I'd have to #PrayForWarren as confusion would no doubt abound! :lolol:

I remember predicting trouble for Warren when we singed Izquierdo. Wisely, Warren pronounces it as Iz-kwi-are-dough. Mind you, he pronounces Trossard as Tossard, which is not so good. I predict Ze-cue-are-ee will soon be heard on the radio.

Then of course there's been AJ, who he struggled with initially, but seems to have cracked it now. Bit of a national treasure though, is Warren, and wouldn't have it any other way!

I sense an unstoppable groundswell for a Warren Aspinall Appreciation Society. The trouble, is I can't think of a catchy song to go along with it.
