My club East Grinstead are lucky to get 100, so if they can double that it would really help them, me and two of my mates who go together to watch pro football are getting ST for the mighty Wasps. In fact over the last 3 or 4 seasons we have been going to watch them more and more, probably 20 times home and away last season / season before.

I hate to say this but its a lot more fun !

Yes, I've been a season ticket at Lewes for three years now and while I love a trip to the Albion with my dad, I do enjoy non league football more

I think attendances will be up at places like that (depending on reduced capacity agreements).

It's really quite exciting.

This in bundles, for me walk to the ground 15min couple of pints on the way £5 entry, stand where I want, get another pint HT. Stroll home pint on the way. £21 no queues or stroppy stewards. Can decide 15 minutes before ko if I fancy it. Still like popping out to Amex a few times a season and a younger rev would choose the pro game but as an old git non league will do me fine.

This is good news, but sad for NLS & NLN N teams as Dorking Wanderers (one of the leaders of the #Letsfanin initiative) have just pointed out in a tweet. 500 fans at Dorking is the same as 500 at Leatherhead, yet only Leatherhead fans can watch their teams.

Surely a reasonable crowd cap of say 1000 for any non-league or even L2 teams would be sensible to help those teams who do not usually get huge crowds in the first place. Glad our local sides are back in the frame though, will head to Worthing for a few games and maybe make the trek to see the Hawks occasionally if I fancy the exercise.

Excuse my ignorance, but which are the best teams in the mid Sussex area to fall into this category. Would like to watch some live football again. Burgess Hill?

Whitehawk, Burgess Hill, East Grinstead and Three Bridges are all in the same league. Fill yer boots.

Oh, and Haywards Heath to add to a multiple of options.

I always say support your local team. Google maps may be needed if you are in some rural backwater. Someone may be 0.2 miles closer :lolol:

Worthing are Step 3 so will be able to admit fans as are Bognor Regis and Lewes. Worthing have had quite a buzz about them recently.

*Edit* just noticed the Mid Sussex bit. Oops.

Capacity limits are based on the ground grading capacity limits and not the actual capacity of the various grounds.
At step 3,Lewes,Worthing, Bognor and Horsham, the limit will be 300 from 22 August rising to 600 from August 31st.
Lower down the pyramids the capacity limits will be smaller.
All to be reviewed in October.

I may decide it is safer to watch Bury Town in the Isthmian League North than make the pre Covid journey to Brighton. I think it may well come down to whether or not car parking is available near the Amex as I really am not keen on the Lewes to Falmer train journey.
We used to watch AFC Sudbury when we lived walking distance from the ground and since Bury are the local rivals it does feel a bit strange but since moving house we are now closer to Bury.

Have they still got Cemal Ramadan playing for them ? Good little player who had a spell at Leiston but never got the game time he deserved .

If 100% crowds are not allowed ( which they wont be) into pro grounds I wont bother getting a ST this year....Football is a small part of the day I like the meeting my mates in the pub, shouting moaning singing and the joy of the mass bundle when we score ( VAR permitting) this wont be the same in 3rd empty grounds muzzled like dogs.

So hopefully a ST for my local Isthmian league club, and I can go home and away and drink a pint watching...in fact that seems more appealing in many ways TBH!

Yep, I’m heading to M’head this season. Doubt I’ll see the Albion this season coming.

Unsure, we haven’t actually been to Ram Meadow as yet. Used to watch AFC Sudbury fairly regularly though as we could just walk down the hill to the ground. I’m considering Bury as a consequence of this announcement but it is still a 40 minute drive away so it’s more of a back up in case I decide against watching the Albion.
Just noticed you are in Thorpeness by the way. We were renting in Blaxhall for a short time whilst our house purchase went through so were near neighbours. So many nice places around there, including Thorpeness

Another non league club in my football supporting past. York Road is a great ground. Saw them in front of decent crowds against Newport and Stafford and also plenty of times in front of not so big crowds.

We were both there then that night in freezing October, with Albion awaiting the winners in next round of the cup and a streaker on the pitch and over the fence onto the railway embankment and disappeared into the night. I couldn’t stop laughing, they never caught him either. Shame York Rd will become another Tesco soon given itsunique history.
