Matt Murray and Souness, other than when analysing our opening moments of madness, are full of praise for Potter, Lamptey and Trossard. Much praise for Potter’s work in just his first season. Souness: for next season “They’ll be fine going forward”. “We asked so many questions, caused so many problems, of a team high up the league”.

We need to think about our style of play in the first ten minutes where teams such as liverpool always come out at 100 miles an hour. They are the best which means bigger, stronger and faster of feet and thought then other prem league players.

Two silly goals, yes they pressed hard but avoidable but then we did really well, again encouraged by some of the younger players biss and lampty especially. Unfortunately currently a step to far for conelly at the moment in my view.

If we survive and personaly I think we will especially if Villa do not win tomorrow, if potter has the chance to move a couple out and in I'm optomistic about next season.

I am disappointed in how propper is working out I had him down as a player who could be more influential but i still don't think hes playing far enough forward.

I think Alzate is already better than Propper and Potter needs to trust him to start next season assuming his groin op is successful.

Souness has gone up in my estimation after that summary. Bang on - lots of praise for us, but must stop the naive starts to give ourselves an even better chance. Pretty obvious stuff really, but it's nice to hear the praise for GP and our new style and respect for battling back to give them a game

He summed us up well. Nice having our game recognized for attempting to do the right things unlike last year where we stunk the place out

I think it's one of the most important things moving forward. Alzate is not a utility player. He's always been a CM. Either play him there or sack him off. Making him play RB or LM is just daft.

If you’re questioning the keeper on that 3rd Liverpool goal you really need to get a grip, when a header comes in from that close range that low and with pace the keeper has no chance to get down to it, they are so hard to stop.

If the keeper can’t cover the near post , he should have a defender protecting the near post , I do think Ryan is not as good as his first season , and if we want to move forward maybe the goalkeeping position needs looking at

I shouldn’t worry...... he won’t be getting many games at right back next season.

Excellent performance overall. Few silly mistakes but dictated the game for periods and created some great chances. One of our best Potter performances and attacked from the off. Great to see.

Well done to the boys. Didn't capitulate after the worst possible start.

Unfortunate individual errors punished in style by the best in the business.

We could have got something from that game which we couldn't honestly say in previous seasons against them.

Overall, an excellent performance and a lot of spirit to come back from 0-2 down against the European Champions.

Burn's chance was the defining moment. That goes in and we're level and in the ascendancy.

Lamptey gave Neco Williams a torrid time out wide. Lots of creativity there to see.

It's light years away from the dire fare that we were served up last season.

Even though we lost, it was a very enjoyable watch.

Potter has clearly taken the team forward.

Well done Albion. Bring on City.

We should go all in for Pope if Burnley are skint

Doubt Pope is going anywhere - especially if Burnley are playing European football next season.

But a goalkeeper is needed to challenge Ryan - doesn't have to be expensive and could even be a loanee (like Henderson at Sheff U) - going to throw a name out - Caoimhin Kelleher of Liverpool - 21 year-old Irish keeper that Liverpool like a lot. I have seen him playing a few times and he is very good and improving - and the one thing that stands out for me is his consistency. He is still learning but rarely makes the same mistake twice. With Adrian as the back-up, Liverpool could well look at giving him some experience and I think he is good enough to play in the PL.

As per the away game Klopp had some very nice things to say about our style and the way Potter wants us to play. Similar kind words that Guardiola had for us after our away game at City. It's nice to have the respect of the managers responsible for creating those two sides, but I so look forward to the time when one (or both) of them has no kind words, but just bleats like a five year old because they haven't come away with three points.
