Brighton have matched Liverpool for an hour in every department. Far braver than their opponents who put 9 men behind the ball and still lose.

More positives to build on in the close season.

I agree - it has been a good performance irrespective of the final result - there are very good foundations there now and every reason to be optimistic about next season. Hopefully the team carry the momentum through the remaining games of this season.

Some of our best football tonight. Promising,
But we need to stop the naivety and sack off the slowhorses in midfield.

I don't care. In the average game 50% of our midfield pass it to the opposition 3, 4, 5 times without actually contributing that much. Biss constantly makes things happens.

The point I was making is that one mistake that leads to a goal means you shouldn't be in the team and are Championship at best, despite everything else you do is positive. But one mistake, which is just as poor, but doesn't lead to a goal, means you are good to go.

No because it is about context. Stephens, Propper, Biss. Pick one...

Sky make Mo Salah MoM.

Ok, his second goal was class, but the first was a gifted tap-in, and other than that...?

Keita was far better for them, and frankly Lamptey’s been more standout than Mo Salah.

My only thing from this game is we’ve been fairly decent but Potter does need to address the way we come out the blocks, we’ve been rubbish at the start of most games and grown into them, only odd one out was Leicester. Can’t afford to start games slowly against teams like Liverpool, gave ourselves way too much to do.

Ryan needs a decent number 2 to push him more .Button and Steele not good enough for premier league need Walton back to push him for a first team place.
Definitely a key area that we need to upgrade in. Ryan has been ok over the past 3 seasons - not too many clangers, but there's too many goals this season where you feel a better keeper would have saved them. Walton would be an improvement on the two current back up keepers though not sure he's ready to push for a starting position yet.

All I can say about that is that it wasn't a slaughter.

The goalkeeper who made the most saves last season, and fifth this?

How is that defined though? A pea roller on target technically counts as a save.

All I know is I’ve seen him let in a lot of soft goals now, and play poor short passes that gets players into trouble (like tonight)

I think it’s fair to question if we can do better in goal, and I wonder if GP will.

Two sloppy goals and some wayward passing, but all in all we did well and played some beautiful stuff at times. Certainly not totally outclassed by the Champions.
