Amazing how you can end up in YouTube rabbit holes.

I started off playing the JD Twitch mix someone posted on the mixes thread which has a track by Shante from the Juice Crew in, which then led me into an old school hip hop rabbit hole (perhaps subliminally influenced by having watched that Apple + Beasties film the other day) ending in a classic old diss track taking aim at Shante and the Juice Crew.

Yes, I'm bored.

Dude if you post the KRS reply to MC Shan, you better post the first track as well OR THERE WILL BE BEEF.

Good point, well made. But, to be fair;

1) the thread title is 'the best SONG'. Singular. Though I may have strayed from song to track anyway.
2) Coldcut played this on its own on Solid Steel, which became a seminal trip hop DJ mix CD, which is where I worked my way back from.

First heard this when elder brother borrowed Irish Tour '74 off a mate of his in 1976. Have loved it ever since and was lucky enough to see him back in the 1980's - his studio albums were great but his live performances turbocharged the songs!

Yes, that is an absolute gem. Lucky enough to see him at the Dome shortly after that (75?)

Released yesterday. The band’s first new material in eight years. They’ve reinvented their sound. Great post-rock finale and something to say about the world today.

Multiple times today, actually the whole of Dark Side of the Moon about 5 times today.

MuIultiple thumbs up for this, I agree about the whole of DSOTM, but this track with the stunning vocalisations of Clare Torry almost move me to tears. Sam Brown did a fantastic performance of this at Floyds 1994 Earls Court concert, but it's really hard to beat the original. An interesting aside, last time I was at The Dome I noticed on the wall in the balcony concourse, they had pieces telling about the famous artists who had performed at The Dome over the years and there was one about the fact that Pink Floyd played the first live performance of Dark Side Of The Moon at The Dome.
