There are too many unhinged individuals politicising nearly everything during COVID because they have an existing agenda and when the interests of the country and the global community would best be served with impartial constructive criticism instead and not pointless agenda driven moaning. It sounds very noble doesn’t it, until it affects you personally. Forget the agenda and look at people. Not numbers, but people.

Have you considered many are busy risking their lives at work?

You can double that number, anyway, and say 16-18 following Gov guidelines that one pair of gloves counts as 2 items of PPE.

But he needs to recognise on PPE that there is a global supply shortage and we’re doing absolutely everything we can to make sure that those on the frontline get the equipment that they need.”

The Labour leader shot back: “The First Secretary says he takes exception to what I said about things worsening.

“I’ve tried not on this to base anything on my own personal opinion because I don’t think that’s helpful.

I don't think they've been ignored or dismissed, Panorama was scathing, Piers Morgan has been on the attack over PPE, pretty sure the Times and the Mail did also.

Ultimately the PPE cock up happened before the pandemic when they didn't stockpile enough. For anything after that Hancock has been on a hiding to nothing because they can't make it or deliver it quickly enough.

Over 120k people died as a result of the measures that had to be implemented as a result of the last recession. The one that’s coming if the lockdown is extended is going to dwarf that. At what point do you make a decision on which problem is going to kill the most people?

Anyway looks like government are going with reducing the impact of recession and will take the hit on covid as things start to open up again in May.

Austerity, political choice, nothing to do with the Recession as such.

It's good to be positive, but wishful thinking I think. We'll only open up when it's safe to do so. I hope that's May, of course I do, but 26k+ deaths now so I can't see it myself.

I do think there needs to be a point where we look at this and decide whether we need to lift some protections for the vulnerable due to the economic effects. Because there is only so far you can go with this lockdown before deciding we cant carry on as we are and lift certain restrictions.
