Summer holidays TV was always such excitements as Robinson Crusoe, White Horses, Heidi, Banana Splits, Why Don't You.... The first 3 were foreign language shows with dodgy voice overs and RC and WH were in black and white. Marvellous.

Serious memories from my youth. Banana Splits has to be the best kids TV programme ever. Dear Drooper.....

There was always a Tarzan film on afterwards as well.

Yes, that's right. Johnny Weismuller.

And Banana Splits had the cartoons in them - Arabian Knights ("Size of an Elephant!!") and that one with the shrinking car are the ones I remember most.

Wasn't Champion the Wonder Horse in this run.

Or was that later?

I bought a DVD of Trapdoor a few years ago. Still brilliant (but admittedly I am easily amused).
Trapdoor was quality. I am still known to believe out the two lines of the theme tune I can remember.

The Littlest Hobo on the other hand I know most of.

My daughter's favourite as she got older and grew out of Bagpuss, although she still retained a soft spot in her heart for the saggy old cloth cat.
Didn't we all.

Not forgetting the Flashing Blade! “You’ve got to fight for what you want, for all that you believe...” (those galloping horses would win the National every time!)
