Roots captaincy during the test series was very good, but I’m not entirely sure what on Earth he is doing here, strange field placings allowing easy 1&2’s and bowling himself again, chucking down pies!

He's probably doing what he is told to by Eoin Morgan

That was a half-tracker... and de Kock smashed it.

England need a couple of wickets SOON or this is gone.

114-1 (22 overs, RR 5.18)

145 from 28 overs, RRR 5.17

Easy singles everywhere, can’t help but feel this one has gone. Surely we need to try something different at this point? Aggressive fields or short balls at least try something rather than sleep walking to a loss.

It looks like the record run chase for victory is going to be broken due to our poor bowling.

This just shows how poor we are when Stokes doent play.

While I agree with you about Ben Stokes and his influence on the game...

I know you love a statistic...

Last 10 ODI innings:

Ben Stokes 465
Jonny Bairstow 519

Quinton de Kock 101* (106 balls, 10 fours, 1 six) :clap2:

A magnificent captain's innings... and looks like he is leading SA to an historic victory.

Absolutely abysmal performance from England, normal service has been resumed.
