4K will only work on the legitimate apps ie BBC iPlayer etc then of course you will also need a 4K TV
So in reality to watch the fottie you don’t need 4k
I'm going to have to politely but strongly disagree with you there.

I have both and while the original was fine and dandy the 4k version is infinitely better.

It's considerably faster running through set up.
The streams I get normally open 5 further feeds, the first one being 'fast'.

That stream isn't receivable on the old stick but has never failed to open on the 4k.

The same applies to films in 1080p.

I've already mentioned 4k is the one to get, in this thread, so I shouldn't be surprised the idiotic question is being asked now.
Not to mention the 4k versions praises are heartily sung on the last Firestick thread which was bounced when this one pointlessly appeared.

Yes, definitely worth the extra for the 4K, even without a 4K TV - it has a newer, faster processor and a better remote control.

As somebody who doesnt know I simply asked if the 4k was worth spending the extra £10 on but as usual Stat Bros reverted to his usual arrogant aggresive unhelpful stance to belittle everybody. To those who offered their views thank you but I am still undecided so will make decison in the next few days and live with it either way.

Are you always this angry?

At work and home I spend all my time doing everyone else's thinking for them.
Ive been beaten down by that and numerous other shite, I feel like I'm drowning and in all honesty I'd welcome it.

So obviously when Uber troll kicks off again, I should leave it.
I can't I know I should but I can't.

Then I'm rightly called out for being an arse.
I reach out with advise.

Then what happens, again I'm ignored and the same question looms up.

Over the last 5 or so years I've had my character completely changed into someone I hate and I can't see anyway out.

So yes I'm always angry, as even my escape from reality makes me angry.

Does that answer your question?

Rightly or wrongly, BensGrandad seems to annoy you beyond reason. Why not try putting him on ignore, then you don't need to interact?

I just need to be a better person, no matter how unlikely that seems.

Just had a chat with my supplier and there are no extra channels available just because you have a 4K stick, however you can use a 4K stick with a lower resolution TV the stick will find out the maximum resolution of your TV via the hdmi and work to that lower resolution.
The processor on the 4k stick is newer at 1.7 GHz so it might run a bit faster but it wont find you extra channels as you insinuate.
of course you still need a reliable supplier no matter how super duper your firestick.

I am intrigued as to why they suggest Alexia, does it give better sound reproduction or what is the reason?

You can control tv with Alexa if you have a new smart tv.

If it's got a scart, it aint SMART.

The TV that I am replacing is an old PANASONIC which we have had for about 15 years but still performs well as a standard TV, and that has a scart lead but the new one will probablky be 4k and has 2 USB connections and 4 x 2.0 hdmi.

Yeah that what I said.
It's not finding extra channels it just allows me to always access 'fast' something the original stick doesn't do.

Sounds good.....get as many HDMI as you can as surround boxes,DVD players and SKY/Virgin use HDMI but 4 should be enough.

Quite clearly you stated you received extra channels.......as
I have said before stop confusing people not everyone is tech savvy

No I didn't, I wrote:-

That stream isn't receivable on the old stick but has never failed to open on the 4k.

Say I want to what to watch whatever sport happens to be on Bein 5 at say 19:30 on a random Tuesday night.

I turn my TV on.
I'm at the Amazon homepage.
I click on my preferred Sports providers home page.
That instantly opens (not neseccarily so with on my original FS)
I scroll across to 'Sports' (again no 'refresh' waiting time)
I scroll down to Bein 5.
I click on Bein 5

I'm then instantly (once again not the case with the original FS) presented with:-

Link 1 (fast) - That is hit and miss with the old stick, more so miss. Not so with 4k.
Link 2 - Usually just about good enough.
Link 3 - normally 'error'
Link 4 - as above
Link 5 usually works but is shite.

So you tell me where I wrote I receive extra channels?

Honestly, I applaud your honesty.

I’m assuming you’ve sought help for this. At a minimum I would recommend some less time on this forum especially if such unimportant things are causing you so much anger.
