Confidence is disappearing, it’s very worrying to see. Passing game has gone, aimless long balls and complete confusion in the second half.

We are in a right battle.

F*<king shambles. We have to win these games. We just can't finish off the games that we take the lead. Again we give up two points.

We should be sitting comfortably in a mid table position, but we are sitting just above the relegation zone.

Who says we should be sitting comfortably in a mid table position? We've still got three points separating us from Villa. Don't worry about it.

Well I am gutted. All we had to do was nullify Grealish in the second half. Whose job was that!?

I agree I don't think the team can carry two players who have no goal scoring threat whatsoever. I get what they do...link up play from defense to midfield. But we only need one.

Agree. It's not as if we don't play in a fluid fashion where players like Mooy don't drop deep - they do so we only need one, with the other midfielders having more licence to roam.

Propper was quality today. Even when stephens plays sideways or slightly forward it seems to curl back at own goal. havig said that, with a shaky defence we need defensive midfielders!

Thought propper played well first half but caught in possession far too often on the second which added to our problems

we had a bad patch this time last season, lasted 4 months.

Villa are a bunch of cheats, how they finished with more than 9 men on the pitch I don't know . . .having said that Webster and Dunk were poor and deservedly booked for the same

Webster and Dunk were poor, so very, very vulnerable. Neither is quick, a liability to the counter every time. Dunk’s miles off England duty just now.

I mean, I'll come out of retirement if I really have to. I can't do any worse than our current strikers, and I used to play right back.

I don't think our squad is weak, but it has championship standard chunks that need upgrading.

Villa stopped us playing our game and we didn't have an alternative. Potter needs to learn to play Wimbledon or what ever . . .fannying around like a bunch of tarts doesn't work all the time, today is class A proof. it was so obvious VIlla were going to come back and we were lucky not to lose we were so crap in the second half.

nail on head.......also Villas fans lifted their team in the last 25 minutes whilst the home fans were pretty much silent / walking out already.......excruciating game to watch.

It's all very reactionary. Someone on BBC Radio saying we need a 'consistent and reliable striker' who is 'proven'.

Anyone got £70m to spare ?

If Maupay had connected in the last minute they'd all be saying different.

Yes, to boost the attack by adding Alzate to it and taking off a less effective attacker.

Yes, we were. Potentially a good move in that case to move Alzate further forward. They scored - but nothing to do with the substitution - they scored because we were sitting back, trying to slow it down, and making mistakes (mainly involving passing the ball to them).

Yeah lets go from 2 forwards to 1 to 'boost the attack'. Great move that was. Why even bother bringing on Murray!

Lets just agree to disagree, because there's no way I can see that substituion as being a move by Potter which gave us more attacking intent.

What the hell was that attacking play in the second from us .... Absolutely abysmal. Didn't even seem to know where the goal is.

Simply terrible in the second half. I can see us , best case , drawing at bmuff.

shaky defence? yep i agree, and one thing we didnt have last seasons even with the dirge we had to watch was a shaky defence.

I dont get why we dont play the 2 best centre halfs at the club in defence. Duffy and Dunk are the best 2 defenders and so far Webster, whilst not totally shite, looks like an over priced waste of money, he's nowhere near as good a defender as Duffy imho :annoyed:
