There's been a few disappointing performances, that's to be expected, but look exactly the same?

No chance. I've not seen us set up any where near as negatively as last season.

Saturday looked incredibly familiar, with no-one getting anywhere near our lone striker for the best part of an hour. Ali J was hopeless, Trossard flitted in and mostly out of the game, and Maupay had no-one anywhere near him, with the midfield barely getting over the halfway line for a lot of the game.

Look, I agree that overall it's better, but let's not go all Emperor's Clothes about it. Saturday, we STANK!

I said earlier in the season that i could accept relegation if we continue to play the way we are. Im not so sure now - i think some teams have us sussed and as entertaining as it is, this play from the back is sooo risky and has cost us a few goals..i see lowly old Rochdale are trying to play this way now - and last nights match highlights here: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/av/football/51114695
shows what can go wrong (and frankly what DOES seem to go wrong)

Well yes we did, but you'd have to admit we do look much better away from home in general this season, even if we haven't got the deserved result sometimes.

One poor performance and we're being compared to Rochdale :lolol: people really do run the gamut of emotions on here

For as long as I can recall at this stage of the season we are pulled apart by pundits. Very few talk any sense.

But not always. Saturday was absolutely no better to watch whatsoever! We stank, but hung in there, hoping to only stay a goal down. Miraculously we did stay just 1 goal down, and hoped to nick a point in teh last 15 mins, which we failed to do. We can pretend it was better to watch, but we would be kidding ourselves.

Overall, yes it's better, but let's not kid ourselves that it's "infinitely better". How about Chelsea away, anyone leave there thinking anything other than "ooh, that was all a bit familiar.

There have been some terrible performances, yes. However, take the average of this season and compare it to the average of last season, even the average of the pre-New Year season and it is undeniable that we are better to watch!

Exactly, this time of year pundits views are as accurate as yours, mine, the pisshead from the pub, it’s just guessing or saying whatever they think will be most popular or get them the most likes or follows etc.

The thread was started by the owner of the board. He is entitled to post what he likes here, seeing as he runs it.

Of course he is entitled to - my question is based on whether it is necessary.

So -

Are Brighton better than last season - yes - are there reasons for this - yes - for example - Brighton effectively broke their transfer record four times during the summer - and - Brighton regularly have six players on the pitch who weren't available to Hughton last season.

Is it necessary to post a thread about what sandwiches we have for lunch? The whole purpose of a forum is for football fans to discuss themes that interest them.
If you don't like a thread then ignore it.

The obvious question to ask is based on this seasons relegation scrap being a lot more open where would we be now if CH was still here?

The only correct answer to that is, "In the Premier League".

How we would be doing is another matter altogether, and although people will have an opinion on that, no-one actually knows for definite. Cue for someone to come on here and claim they do.

No, they really don't.

Semantics

Oh and I am sure I read a while ago that you would stop banging on about CH as long as the comments weren’t derogatory about CH. Nothing in the Bozza original post was vaguely derogatory, so why are you STILL banging on?

We are playing good football under potter but it's the same old story we are not clinical enough Infront of goal just like under hughton and we need to start doing something about it starting on Saturday and we need to cut out the stupid mistakes we are making at the back and become difficult to beat because at the moment it's so predictable just my opinion before people slag me off

Exactly, nobody can say with any substance.

Find it odd our previous manager is mentioned comparatively on here
