Was on a cruise in August, and they had a guest Q&A thingie with the legend that is Des O'Connor - sounded very frail, and moved very slowly with help, but as funny as ever. Apparently doesn't tend to do any public appearances these days...the theatre was rammed with people wanting to see him, with all the stairways lined with people standing.

What a cruise that must have been. Standing in the aisles to see Des O’Connor ....

I once stood behind him in a queue in a fish and chip ship in Blackpool, circa 1982. My first ever celeb-spot.

I was only 12 at the time and remember thinking "wow... famous people actually eat fish and chips like us..."

I’m interested in celebrities and what type of fish they prefer. Any clues Knocky ?
I know from a friend of mine who worked on Seaside Special years ago that Leslie Crowther liked a nice battered Haddock.
