For getting a yellow for kicking the ball away he is a dickhead why ? Just why do they do it ?

Too many double standards in the present game.
We have a throw in, an opponent picks up the ball and just as our man approaches him, he throws the ball behind him and away from our player. No yellow card, how is this any different to what Mooy did ?
Mooy’s was a soft yellow, and I cannot be too sure but I think he hardly touched wonder boy.
And those of you who thought he should go want your brains looking at.

The first yellow was really stupid, why even bother to do this ffs knowing what the penalty could be, Potter will be having words.
The second probably out of frustration for getting the first and played right into Grealish's hands.
I have an inherent dislike of players who deliberately go out to get other players sent off, but Mooy was bloody stupid and let's hope we don't see anymore of this.
Cost us the game, would rather he didn't play.

All true and he has said the same, but he pulled out of the challenge for the second yellow and Grealish went down as if he hadn’t - it was cheating to get him sent off in my view. But Mooy shouldn’t have started the challenge - by the tine he pulled out it already looked bad from the refs viewpoint.

I saw the highlights this morning. He did not deserve to be off the pitch. Two very weak yellows. The ref should have said "you're on a yellow, another poorly timed challenge like that and you are off".

We deserved something from the game. Villa got beyond lucky yesterday.

I can understand the occasional mistimed tackle, professional foul or deliberate handball, but indiscipline in professionals who get paid to get results playing well in a team is something I just can’t stand (or understand).

This.

I'm more concerned about Alzate's focus on diving when he should be passing or shooting. He's just out of nappies and already behaving like a diva in the box. Nip it in the bud Potter.

He's a very good player and a very welcome addition to our midfield - and you don't want him to play for us because he's just had his first ever red card?

Sorry, no sense in that whatsoever.

Very much so....but to suggest he is an idiot ( al la mr Baine) or some people suggesting he cost us the game is ridiculous.

So many people of here have short memories...

Yes he shouldn’t have kicked the ball away and yes his tackle was hard, but very cleverly made to look like he scythed the player...which he didn’t! Grealish knew exactly what he was doing.

We move on.

Sorry, but he was an idiot and judging by his instagram post he acknowledges that. You can't second guess whether a ref will be lenient or not when you kick the ball away (or consistent for that matter). The tackle made contact with the back of Grealish's leg and of course he is going to go down, I suspect a lot of the Brighton players would have done the same.

And yes, it did cost us the game. We were absolutely dominant whilst he was on the pitch. We still had chances to win it after but we were also under a lot more pressure and were still in it thanks to some very poor finishing and to Matty Ryan.

Mooy took a little while to settle but was imperious against Spurs and started of in the same vein yesterday. He'll miss a game and it depends on who replaces him and how well they do. Alzate can come in and Trossard will be even fitter by next week.

As for those who compare him to Andone, absolute crap. Andone, as good as he was, was a hot head and by all accounts disruptive to the squad.

Sheer stupidity by Mooy and he’ll learn.

However, as good a player as Grealish is (and he is), he is just a vile individual. In the referees ear for 90 minutes, trying to get players booked...... horrible

Agreed. He reminded me of the ginger dalek in player form. He’s probably best mates with Joey Barton outside of football.

Brighton / Hove actually
Two soft yellows, of not dangerous play, is completely different a straight red leg breaker.

Mooy would have been gutted and I am sure that we all slept better than he did last night.

Even it it was our decision to make, I would hope not !

Saturday's, 'questionable' event doesn't detract from the fact that he is a seriously good footballer who we should be delighted to have here playing for the Albion

A little known secret is Mooy is one half of the Blue Man group. He and Jon Jo Shelvey have been performing incognito for a while now so maybe he was just over tired? You would be too playing those trombone pvc pipes every Saturday night.

I saw on another thread that he'd apologised for his stupidity (his words). Also I understand it was his first sending off playing in England. That'll do for me, I can't imagine Andone would ever have had the humility to apologise. Will look forward to seeing him again in an Albion shirt in the next couple of weeks. Despite his otherwise dubious history of recently playing for the very annoying Huddersfield Town, I've come to really appreciate his talents.

Doesn't Jon Jo have a history of getting sent off a lot? You could have a point there, perhaps that's where the confusion lies!
