Apparently Rushworth has broken a finger and won't be available until the end of August. 2nd-year scholar Roco Rees started and played 66 minutes for Worthing in their pre-season friendly at Whyteleafe yesterday (and so may be a short-term replacement for them until Rushworth is fit).

Matt Clarke starts tonight for Phillip Cocu's Derby County. They did splash out almost £10million on another centre back though, who is not available tonight. He has the shirt, now he needs to justify keeping it and to be fair, I'm pretty confident he's a good, solid, defender. We'll see.

I wonder if we might see Ahannach heading to Union SG. Bit of a leap but he’s clearly not going to break through here and needs to raise a bit more of a profile to get his career kickstarted again after his horror injury. Brussels is not too far away from his family in Amsterdam.

Not actually a loanee any more, but was one of our own trough a vey special season for us - congratulations to Oliver Norwood who finally gets to play in the PL today, after winning promotion from The Championship in three successive seasons with three different teams.

A fantastic record - doubt if it's ever been done before (or will be again)? Any, good luck today, Ollie - have a stormer!
