Alzate was playing in League Two last year. That's a big ask. The others, as you rightly point out, are out on loan. So Perkino's suggestion doesn't look very likely.

You’ve got to try them at the top level though!

Băluță looks an absolute beast and Alzate has plenty of class and skill. I also think Richards & Connolly have the makings of being very special players.

I don't have the experience or knowledge of the squad to answer accurately but I've heard plenty of good things about Walton, White, Baluta, Alzate, Sanders, Gyorkeres, Connolley plus Richards sounds useful. From what I've seen in videos many of them have plenty of skill and like any raw talent it's about developing it and exposing it on the biggest stage which helps you see if they will make it as a first team regular

Connolly is direct, got a few tricks, plays on the shoulder (when central) and shoots early. He's also got tons of pace from a standing start and would be able to run between Van Dyke's legs.

Not disagreeing, but you’ll be surprised by Alzate, excellent balance, plays on the half-turn with his head up.

Think he’ll provide great cover for Gross, though will start on the bench IMO.

Prior to Wan Bissaka being given his Premier League debut, he hadn't even played in League Two. Or in non-league. Or against Category One level opponents. To suddenly expect him to start against Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League wouldn't just have a been a "big ask", it would have been a ****ing monumentally humongous ask......except he had the "answer" and less than 18 months later he's worth upwards of £45 million.

You will simply never know unless you give youngsters a chance. Sooner or later we will start doing that......

So far, you've seen Baluta, Alzate and Richards against Crawley.
Maybe they'll be good one day (let's hope so) but that's hardly a guide as to whether they can cut it at Premier League level.

Is it really wise to throw kids with limited/no experience of English league football into what will be a relegation fight?
Or, more to the point, is it wise to rely on those kids to keep us up this year?

I suspect the time we'll start blooding kids into the team is when we're preparing for the Championship season 20/21. Which I wouldn't mind at all. It's much less risk to do so at that level and dropping down didn't do Burnley or Newcastle any harm. We even have a manager in place who could excel at that level.

When Wan Bissaka made his debut, Palace were 4 points and 5 places beneath us, and only outside the relegation zone on goal difference. And he didn't have "huge potential" any more than 10 lads currently in Albion's academy. Hodgson took a chance and it paid off spectacularly. Hughton didn't - on more than one occasion.

That makes sense, however you cannot flood the side with them either as that can completely derail a team.

The club binned off a manager I trusted to keep us up. Then they appointed someone with no experience managing in the top flight and only very limited experience managing in England. They've got rid of last year's most productive winger and replaced him with someone from another inferior league. Kept the least productive players in the club. And still haven't addressed Murray's age.

Meanwhile, on NSC, people are delighted that a player we signed who will never qualify to play in England might raise £2-3M profit in a few years time.
