No. And your point is ?

JRG claimed he was one of the most experience PL managers when he isn't. He has plenty of PL experience but most of it was as a coach and not a manager. Thought that was obviously the point I was making!

I don't know who JRG is but I'm guessing he is a CH fan/friend more than a BHA one and more likely will move on to whatever team he manages. He states things as facts rather than declares them as his opinion and quotes figures that are incorrect, eg Reading getting promoted and relegated 3 times when they have been in the PL twice and relegated twice!!!! When you know one fact is wrong you then start to question all the others!

So, for an improvement this season, the minimum we can expect is, finishing above 17th, an FA cup semi final and the double over Palace.

No pressure then, Potter.

No, not necessarily. We could still finish 17th but if the style of play is more engaging then that would be an improvement.

If it’s come to disputing something as obvious as Hughton is a vastly experienced PL coach and manager (you think he isn’t ??) and/or that you can’t accept any positive things about him on here without being accused of being a “CH fan” as opposed to a Albion fan (how about both) then it’s pretty depressing stuff.

No, not necessarily. We could still finish 17th but if the style of play is more engaging then that would be an improvement.

I found the attitude of some of the other fans worse to cope with than the game itself. The bloke in front of me bellowing in my face at half time was 'fun', when I had just commented something to my husband. I cannot stand overly aggressive fans who think they are entitled to abuse other fans.

Agreed. 12 efforts on goal in our last 6 homes games is not the type of football I could put up with indefinitely. I'm certainly not looking for or expecting gung-ho football, but we need to look at getting more on the front foot at home, particularly against the teams around us. Far, far too many times we started games so ponderous and passively, almost trying to bore the opposition into submission in our attempts to nick something.

It may work, it may not, but we can't go on like that. Attending games was becoming a real chore.

No, we need to get a few shots off, play players in their preferred positions and not bore everyone in the stadiums we play in.

It's a results based business.

There has to be a balance. Disgruntled fans make for a shit atmosphere, toxic even. The players have to offer hope even when spending the majority of the game defending. Keep up what we were watching for the last few months of last season and the stadium will soon be half empty too. Like it or not there are plenty of better things to do on a match day than be a die hard who’ll poke up with negative football virtually every game. TB clearly wasn’t signing form the same hymn sheet as you seem to be by the end of last season.

We have a hard core of about 6k fans and I’d hate us to be playing in front of so few people, which would happen if we carried on like we finished last season.

And that's fine for the business side, which is obviously important because the difference between the Premier League and the Championship is enormous. But it's fairly clear from the quotes from almost any player who has spoken publically that nobody was enjoying the dour and negative approach to the games. It wasn't really in keeping with the #Together mantra. Ultimately, we did enough to stay up and that's the bottom line. A change was needed, though.

No, I never said he was not a vastly experienced PL coach and manager. I suspect you are deliberately misreading what I have stated. For your benefit again, JRG claimed he was an experienced PL manager, he never said anything about coach. The role CH had at Tottenham for 14 years was only as a coach and as I said, that means he is not the final decision maker. You do understand the difference between a coach and a manager (or head coach as some are now titled)? Further more, for 8 of the years he was there he was a youth coach and then reserve team coach, only becoming 1st team coach in 2001.

I'll accept positive things about CH but not distortions of the facts.

As for being both a BHA fan and one of CH, I don't believe you can be both equally otherwise which games are you going to watch when he gets another job?

I fully accept some will admire his coaching credentials, personally I'm not enamoured but what I will agree on is that he has a manner about the way he goes about things that a lot of his peers would do well to replicate.

Then report them.

My God,on it goes; if it wasn't bad enough having to poke up with endless Brexit arguments, we now have 'HUGHXIT' to deal with.
Some on here will soon be asking for a referendum amongst Albion supporters to see if Bloom's decision can be reversed and Hughton reinstated!:lolol:
At the time it was dubbed CHexit.

I voted CHremain but have accepted the Treferendum result and am now increasingly convinced about the sunny uplands we will enjoy as unshackled Albion exploit fresh opportunities and go from strength to strength as a footballing power...

Yes. He's an experienced coach and manager and you're not enamoured. Fair enough.

Well I guess that COULD be taken as CH venting, but such is the baroque nature of the way he uses language that few would take it as such. Bless him, love the bloke to bits

I thought that was as close to a breakdown as he's ever going to get :tantrum:

I thought it was rather naughty of Mr Nice Guy to say he was shocked that he was sacked... pure self-interest in his job hunt I suppose, but still utter bolleaux...

That's nonsense and you know it. The club will be looking for an improvement in the PL. The other 2 are a bonus. PL, you know, where the team's £100+ Million comes from.

:lolol:

I have a feeling of deja vu all over again.

The summary, oft repeated, is worth repeating again.

Just like it can come as a shock when, in a bad mariage one partner eventually says 'I'm sorry, I'm leaving you', it is quite feasible CH was shocked when he was sacked.

This has nothing to do with whether the sacking was fair.

This has nothing to do with whether or not other people, you or I for example, expected the sacking.

This has nothing to do with whether the sacking was inevitable, but the timing unexpected.

This has nothing to do with whether we can expect better or worse next season.

It is simply about whether when CH said he was shocked he was really shocked or whether he just made that up for comedy value, or to obtain sympathy.

He was shocked, wasn't he. He said he was shocked. He was shocked. Shocked, it was, that he was. Shocked.
