I disagree with the last part he is NOT better than Stephens in the role Stephens plays.

I wouldnt argue with that but it is wrong to say that Hayden is better than Stephens now.

Yes, indeed. I'm not sure there will be room in the 25 for Kayal if we sign Hayden.

Hayden’s advantages would probably be age, pace and maybe shifting the ball quicker in transition although he pretty much just gave the ball straight to Shelvey to ping Hollywooders when we drew at the Amex. Don’t see the point in upgrading from Stephens when we have Băluță and some other interesting U23 prospects, especially as I’m not sure that Potter is keen on defensive midfielders in his systems.

I'm excited by Baluta but he hasn't yet kicked a ball in the Prem whereas Hayden has the experience of coming through Arsenal, 50+ Prem matches with Newcastle and age still on his side.

I'm not convinced Baluta is defensively responsible. From what I saw of him in the recent games he appeared to do positive things when on the ball but appeared a bit lazy when Romania where not in possession.

I watched the match against Newcastle at home, whilst on holiday, with a Newcastle fan and he really rated IH, and said that he would be a real loss.

According to the Newcastle Chronicle his child and it's mother live in the South West which is why he wants to move south. So hopefully we might suit him more.
