Really!? How much have we made? I make it a Euro 10M loss plus any proportion of his wages we are paying so far. Great business by the Albion there [emoji106][emoji41]

Post #642 (quite probably BS) suggests the club could doubled it's money plus €4m to cover expenses.

six feet beneath the moon...
For all the disappointment of us never getting to see him play and calls of incompetence on the boards part, if we got a €12M profit and perhaps even a player in return then that's phenomenal business from TB

A club cannot pay a player until a work permit has been secured.

Rocket science it ain't, and yet seemingly ...

Oh and loving the subconscious:-

phenomenal business = TB
Appalling business = Recruitment Team. :lolol:

Argus pouring cold water on reports suggesting new loan deal all done and delivered.
"Meanwhile, Albion have yet to make a firm decision on where Alexis Mac Allister will spend the season on loan, in spite of reports in Argentina suggesting a deal with Boca Juniors.
Boca are the biggest and most successful of six clubs in Mac Allister's home country eager to borrow the £8 million attacking midfielder.

That denies any Boca deal is sealed but effectively confirms that he will be going on loan somewhere.

This more detailed MacAllister bit in the Argus seems to be saying that the passport process for the player hasn't been started yet, and that the process could take up to a year. What gives? ???

I know patience is frowned upon these days but I don't get the rush.

- He's looked ok (going by the numbers) last season, playing in a poor team but in a very competitive league;
- He's still only 20 years old and playing at a decent standard, so it benefits us to see him step up to a higher level and see how he competes.

Sure, I'd love to see him come here but I also don't want him to come here and stall. He's a young lad and moving half way across the world to sit on the bench potentially, when he could be playing for Boca and really earning his stripes, could be more damaging than positive.

Accepted but disappointing from a fan perspective

Why? What if selling MacAllister and Tau leads to the funding to purchase a player that makes a difference, excites and leads to us finish in the top half or wins a cup and therefore leads to European football?

It’s about doing anything legitimate to benefit the business in the long term right? This isn’t about generating profits to line the owner’s pockets it’s about generating profits to take the club forward on or off the pitch.

Goodbye message to Argentinos on his Instagram

Indeed, something is definitely afoot...

"To all the fans, partners, colleagues and leaders of Argentinos Juniors. Today I have to finish this first stage in the club that formed me, and I want to thank all of them for the support and affection they gave me. Yes, I said the first stage because I am sure that someday I will return, along with my brothers, to continue enjoying this great club that saw us born."

Very sensible and reasonable post. It'll be recevied terribly here on NSC!

Why?

His signing and subsequent loan has had no bearing on the first team squad.
The team aren't short players because of this deal.
You couldn't have invested any of yourself in a player you have never seen or even shared a continent with.

What have you possibly got to be disappointed about?

Indeed, also playing for Boca, or at a team of comparitive stature in another league may even lead to him gaining international recognition, making it easier to gain a visa and all the time increasing his value.

I’m not sure why this is so hard to comprehend. We have signed two players who are POTENTIALLY better than ones we already have , or at least a good back up. Tau sounds really exciting and this guy sounds a bit flair. EXCUSE ME if I’m a little disappointed that we can’t have them in the Albion squad

Whilst I appreciate that TB is a great wheeler dealer and is now wheeling and dealing in players too, as a football fan I’m disappointed that we may never see the players concerned. Not complaining, not knocking just being a football fan who wants to see flair players. We didn’t have too many of those last season. Maybe we’ll sign a shitload this season who can play and I’ll crawl back into my hole
