Phil Tufnell cricketer and accomplished artist. Occasional quiz captain.

He was on a celebrity painting programme recently and is pictures were good.

Are you sure you are not confusing him with the rather wonderfully hatstand Jack Russell?

EDIT no you are not, but Russell was also an England International who now makes his living from painting.

So he counts as well.

Paul King (if you remember that hit) went on onto be to a successful TV producer.

Probably the most successful move "behind the camera" was Jasper Carrot. Formed a TV company that developed who wants to be a millionaire. Sold it years later and made far millions than he did with stand up comedy.

Harrison Ford. Carpenter.

Beat me to it... I was racking my brains as to how to say I knew first hand without sounding like a show off, but sod it. Here goes :

We were renting a villa in Beverly Hills (family holiday) and it was in a very quiet little dead-end close (off San Ysidro Dr. if anyone knows the area) when I looked at the house opposite and commented on the ludicrous amount of latticework, fancy fencing and general woodworkery. The woman checking us in said, oh yeah - the guy used to be a carpenter, but he became an actor. Yes, Harrison Ford.

I then commented on how quiet and very much out of the way the place was (it was like 3 right turns, 3 left turns, through a hidden gap in a hedge followed by 2 lefts and 3 rights) and she said that it was a bolt hole for other stars when in the area. The last person to rent it who was famous was Britney Spears as somewhere to get away from the press after she shaved her head... I cannot tell you how much I enjoyed being in the shower at that place, full of thoughts of her in the niff - but with the Mrs in the same room so the smile was supressed. :lolol:

Remarkable really. He also got the all-clear after having cancer.

A genuine polymath. I went to an evening with him, a year or so ago, where he was promoting and talking about his book. Hugely entertaining. He’s also very short, which surprised me.

Henry olonga Zimbabwe cricketer. Did very well on Australian version of “the voice”

I was surprised when I saw Noel fielding kicking about a football, he looked like he must have played at a decent level. Had a varied entertainment career.

Some sportsmen are ridiculously good at several sports. I am pretty sure that as well as being ranked one in the word for cricket AB de villiers is also a scratch golfer, could have been an international hockey or Rugby player and I think one other. Pretty impressive (although Jos Buttler is similar).

Hmm. Maybe she’s no good at drawing either then. I mean it’s not exactly Michelangelo, is it?
