Do you have any inside knowledge who the next manager we are looking at ?

I do wonder whether we would have sounded someone out before making the call. I'd like to think we have made noises in the direction of Arsene Wenger, and have recieved positive noises back. I know it's a lot to ask, but then as a club we have such incredible, experienced, and respected people behind the scenes, and such a world class infrastructure these days, that we could genuinely be an attractive option. I know every club would like to think the same, but we do seriously have something special down here just waiting to be unleashed.

I could be wearing my blue and white tinted glasses and I could also be overly intoxicated, but I want Arsene Wenger and I am getting my hopes up.

Think a lot will be looking at us over achieving and peaking . Most decent clubs these days have everything in place behind the scenes and we are still a small club in most people’s eyes . It’s a tough job to take someone like us to the next level . The fact we are premier league will mean we should have plenty of choice though

I like this thinking. It could be that this decision (the sacking) was made before yesterday, as the result was almost certain.

We might see a ‘name’ - then again I didn’t see this coming, so what the **** do I know?

No, nothing obviously. The only remotely privileged piece I got was the revelation that the recruitment team put forward Brooks, but he was dismissed quite quickly. To think we went with the likes of Slowcardia and W4nkb4sh .....

I do think though, someone like Arsene, for example, will be very interested in who is working behind the scenes. What is the setup? what is the vision? what is the experience? What is the stability and support for the manager? When you consider Bloom, one of the finest football chairmen around, and Barber (despite what some fans say) a hugely respected and experienced figure from his time at the FA, and Ashworth, same. & You consider an academy fit to produce talent, and a training ground fit to get the best out of everyone, and a stadium with the best facilities around for it's size.

If Arsene would ever consider taking a job outside of the top positions of a league (which to be fair he might not) then we are as good as anybody, probably better than most.

Hindsight.
I could imagine someone looking at Brooks and thinking 'they're a bit lightweight atm', and figure priorities lay elsewhere.
