Why, has Winstanley got a job in recruitment at Pool, Spurs, Arsenal or Chelsea? Or do you think he could persuade players to come play for Brighton in the Premier League so they can watch other English teams play in the European finals?

It's ridiculous that they'll all have to travel to Madrid and Baku for the finals. They should be moved to a closer venue, one with outstanding modern facilities and a proud tradition of hosting football at the highest level.

All joking aside, it actually is, to be honest. Its an enormous, and entirely avoidable drain on financial and environmental resources, when there are magnificent stadia on the doorstep of the finalists.

What if somebody points out to them that Wembley holds 25,000 more people to fleece, than the ground they are using?
Baku, ok but Madrid's not much of a schlep and the Wanda has hosted a fair bit of high level football.
It isn't (relatively) but it is still entirely unnecessary, at a time when all Nations and major organisations are making bold statements about environmental awareness, etc. Obviously the issue is nothing new - The Chelsea v United final was in Moscow, the all-Madrid final was in Milan, etc, but it is something obvious and entirely achievable to correct.
Environmentally it is a scandal.
Financially, for the fans of the clubs involved, it makes so much more sense, as well.

It would have to be the one brain cell at UEFA, they are European competitions.
The one brain cell at FIFA would have the Finals in Saudi Arabia, and Tokyo.

The other ridiculous bit is the 6k allocation to each team for a stadium that holds 68k.

It’s is astonishing bad for the environment but **** it, people are ENTITLED to kill their bit of the planet, more so if you’re stinking rich like FIFA officials. The rest of us just trying to live and breath non polluted air are just a nuisance really. It’s us that are the problem, more of us need to die and make room for their obese snouts and trough extensions. That’s the real SOLUTION.

They are UEFA competitions, so I'm sure either cash determines who hosts the final, or they are allocated in return for political favours. No need to let common sense get in the way when sleaze works just as well.
