A striker who does a massive amount of the grunt work - making chances and creating space for others - like I said - a grossly underrated player.

Because Chelsea have activated an extension clause in his contract/
CH seems to like having 3 strikers in his 25 man squad , assuming Murray will be one of them it would suggest that we have to shift one out before an incoming & as we chased Andone for a number of windows its most likely Locadia if we can find any takers.
Can also be said CH like 4 central midfielders & 4 wingers so again someone will have to leave to make space , probably Kayal as he does not seem to get game time anyway & either Izzy out through injury or Knocky out for being too knocky most of the time.
Defence is all about whether Bruno signs on for another year which if he does leaves little space again unless someone leaves , most likely Balogan who will be frustrated he has not played much.
Keepers we have in abundance so unless one leaves we will have to loan out or have too many for the squad.

Last year, after January, he had 5 strikers in the squad - Murray, Hemed, Baldock, Locadia, and Ulloa.
I suggest he'd be very happy to have 4 - particularly if 1 is the aging Murray.
In fact, I'd go so far as to say that going with a 23 man squad - including just 3 strikers - from January, was a bad mistake which will probably be 1 of the findings of the club season post mortem.

Long would score 8-10 goals as a second striker - and would have the pace for counter-attacks to set up others.
The team needs pace - and it is short of it at the moment. You would still need a another striker - but the issue of pace up front would be taken care of.
I think it’ll be Davy Pröpper on his way rather than the king. I do think that our central midfield will be added to with one star signing plus some outstanding U23 talent including Baluta.

Last Jan - May - he had 4 - Ulloa, Murray, Locadia and Hemed.

Rumours Spurs will replace Eriksen with Donny Van Den Beek of Ajax so space for Propper there.

Why would Spurs even consider a replacement for Erikson? Whatever rag you read that on is just not worthy of the space.

Strikers are hard to come by - and there aren't any worth talking about in the Championship
The top two strikers in Holland this year are Luuk DeJong who didn't score while at Newcastle - and Dusan Tadic who scored 20 goals in four seasons at Southamption. The third highest is Hirving Lozano who has been linked with Chelsea for £36million and will probably end up as one of their 30-40 players going out on loan (that might be an option).
It is the same story in most of the rest of Europe.
Getting a striker capable of scoring is pot luck - and you have to keep throwing £25+ million at it until you hit one that works (and then one of the top six will poach them - or even Everton, they are paying up to £50million for Richarlson and he only scored 5 goals for Watford).
One player worth a look at from the Championship is Alan Browne at Preston - 24 years old and improving every season - he scored 7 from central midfield last season and 12 this season.

I don't think anyone is suggesting that Spurs want to get rid of him but that doesn't mean he won't leave.

Reports are that Eriksen has a contract agreed with Real Madrid - either this season by transfer or next season as a free agent.
