Just have a feeling we’ll offload him quite quickly.

Perhaps back to Wigan?

I thought it was an odd signing at the time, even if he is only ever to be cover. I've seen him a couple of times live and a fair bit on the box and he's never looked impressive. I'd like to think our academy can produce someone equivalent or better.

The thinking may well be he can provide cover while our academy products get some experience on loan.

Yes, I know what you mean. Just doesn’t fit for me, don’t know why, could be brilliant. I don’t know.

Or possibly keep him as experienced cover and send White and Barclay out but already talk of Kerr going on loan to Derry.

The trouble is, potentially he is blocking the development of Ben White.

I mean if two of Dunk, Duffy and Balogun were unavailable, I’d like to see White given a chance.

The whole experience thing is an interesting one for me.

White did great at Newport (which included playing well against Kane), but other than ‘hardening’ younger players up, is it representative of the PL?

The U23 league on the other hand is also a very competitive league.

Obviously I am aware a lot of players do go out on loan, but is there a point when you just have to go for it and ‘blood’ them?

I guess it could be dependent on the individual as well. Walton for example wasn’t great at Bury, but excelled at Plymouth (his home town) and then Wigan.

Don’t know the answer, just observations....

I'd imagine it depends on position as well. You can give a young forward 10 minutes here and there but it's rare for a club to throw on CB in the closing stages.

Ben White would get better experience at a a top Div 1 side or lower Championship side than being no 4 or 5 with us. He has passed the needing match experience part of his career

To be fair, many on here (myself included, I admit) thought Duffy was an odd signing at the time. We had Dunk and Goldson as our ace CB pairing, and just needed to replace the departing Gordon Greer as 4th. choice CB (we thought).
Turns out we were wrong then, so .............................................. ?

Yes, like you I couldn’t work the Duffy one out. Turns out, he’s a colossus!!

The best thing about Duffy is he can't pass the ball for toffee and he's not exactly fast, so he's unlikely to ever go to a "bigger" club so we're likely to enjoy his best years whilst we stay in the Premier League. Dunk on the other hand...

From what I've seen of Dan Burn, he's not on the same level as either of them. But I'm happy to be proven wrong.

How did he lose part of his finger ?

EDIT - caught it climbing on a fence when he was 13.......

So true, and when he tried a Cruyth turn and nearly let in Everton........

He's a classic old style centre half, win everything, just don't let him have time to think! (perhaps a bit harsh).

Burn will very much be fourth choice behind Dunk and Duffy and as per my earlier post, I do wonder how long he'll be here. Hard to see past FA Cup matches.
