Would you not have to have a certain amount of moisture in the air for such a phenomenon? And a very bright moon? They usually occur around places like Victoria Falls, I thought. Or is it damper on the coast than I was expecting tonight?

There can be moisture in the jet stream, but also a sign of frost in the air.
