I never said he did replace him!? And I don't think he was edged out the club he chose to go somewhere to manage... But yes CC got the number 2 role and Jones was made first team coach if memory serves me correctly.

He went from caretaker manager to assistant
manager to first team coach.

I call that being edged out.

Our only slump this season was when he was away on compassionate leave. CC and CH have worked well and with each other for a long time now... very strange. If he's walked away for cash reasons only he's a back stabbing ****. I'm very disappointed. Shell shocked TBH.

Still strange. The whole timing of it and him leaving CH behind after their long and prosperous professional relationship.

Wonder how long his notice period is? 3 months I expect. We will definitely keep him on garden leave to his full notice period expires. Therefore Villa won't have an assistant manager til mid Feb. hardly ideal for them. Trollope would have been able to start straight away. Still, we can now get Trollope in straight away as replacement due to CC's resignation. Doesn't CH know him well and respect him? No compensation to pay to get him in. Of course CC will be a loss but I expect our defensive record is more down to having two CBs as strong as Dunk and Duffy, not CCs coaching.
