Bit of humble pie for me , been informed it was heaving yesterday and at one point there were 9 people in there , sadly one of them ordered a lager top causing a huge queue .

Not the real one
At the Barnsley match my daughter 7 needed the toilet and we had to wait to give a ticket to a mate, so we couldn't go in the ground. As there are no toilets outside, and the blokes on the door at Dicks bar were being jobsworths, I walked around to the 7Stars to see if they'd let my daughter use the toilet, they allowed me, top blokes (unlike the Dicks at Dicks). As she went to the loo, I counted 6 people in there but couldn't see the bar area. There might have been 2 or 3 at the bar. But there were no more than 10 people in there and with the 2 fellas on the door, the security fella top of the stairs and the bar staff, there's about 5-6 staff for 10 people. How can that carry on? Barber has completely screwed up on this one.

But according to Barber on the Roar, it offers an executive lounge experience for half the price, and we're all not appreciating this?

The clubs losing 740k a month , solution , charge a handfull of people £12 to get in , problem solved , well done everyone and for god sake nobody tell Mr Bloom the running costs. You would think that after all that has happened at the club they would take a bit of notice of the fans , executive lounge my arse , WAKE UP FFS

Pile of patronising spin. Typical example of the gertrfication and all that is rotten with modern football plc. Executive lounge? Looks more like a departure lounge in the picture. The club saw a potential cash cow and tried to milk it accordingly. Its backfired. and Paul Barber is now trying to spin his way out of a pickle.

I wonder if the club has considered trying to get a family style restaurant in there on matchdays?

They did try an East stand brasserie there and when I used it a few times it was really busy. But clearly not getting the margins. Wonder if a donatello or gbk style pop up has been considered or approached?

I appreciate it's difficult to run a restaurant once a fortnight but if it's bookings only then it should help with planning

Exactly, the ones wanting an Executive Lounge experience are already catered for.

Clearly not or 1901 wouldn't have sold out 2010-15 or effectively now sold out as well for the next period.
Some on this thread were doubtful that anyone wants that sort of experience at all at the Amex despite the fact that we have more fans, i think, paying for a lounge than any comparable club.
I guess pitching Seven Stars as a "light" (Barber's marketing speak word for it on Albion Roar) or cheaper or family 1901 isn't working, given multiple reports on here of limited people inside, but not sure why the surprise, let alone, anger, that he is trying to find alternative ways of meeting that demand.

It's my understanding that a number of caterers who have pitched to the club including many previous providers (we've had a few) have all discussed with the club exactly what they want or expect from the 1901 area. We are a provincial football club with a proposition that can't quite work out what it wants to be?

Are we trying to attract businesses who may choose between Emirates, white Hart Lane or the Amex or are we looking for supporters who may be a bit more flush that others (or due to ability to offset the cost) who want the best seats on the house.

Looking at the gaps I'm the middle tier yesterday, I'm of the view its still not quite right. By replicating that for families in the East at a premium price point I'm not sure we are making any steps forward

Is the East 1901 sold out?

I didn't realise that.

I can't believe you are besmirching the Club on social media. Prepare for a strongly worded email from The Master.

If they are trying to find ways of making money and that's fair enough , but even a ostrich with it's head buried in sand could see that this is a massive fail and correct that failure by simply opening up the 7 stars to all , it does actually say community stadium on the tin not , The American Express only turn up if you want to feel like a executive stadium . Plus if what your'e saying is true then all the other wannabe executives would be queuing up to get in the 7 stars , they are not , and that's a fact .

Well we'll see and if the reports are correct on here re: minimal numbers then no doubt they'll change tack.
Re: making it free for everyone as before then Barber insists they were losing money hand over fist so i doubt thats an option.

Only people I can see it really appealing to are maybe players' representatives wanting a bit of budget personal space instead of having to join the same scrum for food and drink and a pre-match seat as the rest of us, else a few wise guys making full use of the WiFi to work from 'home', as per most coffee shop models nowadays.

According to Barber it's more than double that at £1.5m a month. It'll take more than a handful paying twelve quid to get in. :)
