Don't forget, he's deleted his Twitter account, & refused to sign a new contract, all within 4 days. 3 own goals and a red card. That's not just bad luck.

Indeed. He is a kn*b. Would probably kiss the badge if he played for us to try and win people over, until the next big thing

Didn't i read a while back that Duffy was happy to sign a new deal at Rovers when we came sniffing ?

Three OGs in a week, poor sending off, questionable attitude, and he's playing alongside a decent player in Greer.

Do. NOT. buy.

"Duffy came out 2nd half without a black arm band on too - on Jack Walker's anniversary, hope that was an oversight".

Those could be unrelated - we don't know the reasons for not signing the new contract, and we don't know the timelines - it's possible that he could have got a load of abuse from fans about it (or other things) and decided he couldnt be arsed with the hassle - that's not unusual.

As for the OG's/Sending off: OG's unfortunate but definitely avoidable, the 2nd yellow a clear sign of frustration but unprofessional nonetheless.

We've got three better centre halves than Duffy. But I'd be happy to have him as a 4th choice (or maybe 5th after Bruno). BUT If we are going to raid Blackburn, why not take their best player Marshall and play him at right back leaving Bruno as a 4th choice CB?

They could be unrelated, but can you imagine Nsc if Bridcutt or Dunk had done these things instead of refusing to play?
I don't like Blackburn fans, having seen a kiddy assaulted when we were there, & heard of racist abuse of another fan, but I do sympathise with them, in this situation.

Unless Hunnemeir will never play again I don't see why we need him. Ben Hall played 19 Premier League games for Motherwell last season and he is currently our sixth choice CB. We really don't lack depth in that position.

To be honest we've come through these games now, even IF we did sign Duffy today I don't imagine he would play against Reading.

Hughton reckons BFG and potentially Goldson back after the international break which leaves just Newcastle with this 'weakened' CB situation.

However longer term, BFG has proven to be quite injury prone, we know his family is also not in the UK so maybe there is some concern about his fitness, how he will settle so we may benefit from an experienced 4th CB ?

er ..... BFG has just had one serious injury. Does that qualify him as being injury prone? Plus, judging by his twittering, he seems to quite like it here and is a genuinely committed member of the team and determined to regain his place in the team.

One serious injury? I thought he came back from the first injury, played a game then got injured again? Or did he aggravate the existing injury when he came back?

There can't be too many worst performances than two own goals and getting sent off, but l seem to recall a guy called Baxter who played for Preston who also scored two own goals and also hit his own post when Brighton beat Preston 5-2 at the Goldstone in about 1976/7!!
