I started this thread thinking FFs get a grip, but all the replies are echoing my thoughts. We have just had 2 tough away games and got 2 points. Really what more do you want (although after both matches I felt we had lost).

A dodgy spell? We're playing by far the best football we have all season IMHO. People have very short memories.

I actually don't think it is stuttering at all. The last 2 games Derby and QPR have been away from home. Both of them have played well against us but we have more than held our own, even with the injuries and we really could have beaten both with a bit of luck.

I thought Calderon and Bruno were superb tonight. Calderon had Murphy tracking back and helping him a lot, although Jamie I don't think put a tackle in his presence getting back helped a lot.

Normally I say very little negative about Chris but I think he got a substitution wrong tonight. I know Wilson was knackered but when he was on the pitch they kept an extra man back to cover us in case he broke away. Once he went off they kept a man less at the back which then left us on the defensive too much.

So although I think YES Wilson needed to come off when he did, I think it invited pressure. BUT HEY. We are joint top of the League still. We are now in mid December and the season has been a real rollercoaster and it hasn't ended just yet. I think there is still more to come from us this season. We will in and about the top 2 come the end of May

I think "heart" is taking over "head" at the moment. Realistically, I think most of would have settled for a point at both Derby and QPR, but simply because of the way both games went, we are ultimately disappointed at not winning them. I know I am. BUT, we have still taken two valuable away draws, and we are still unbeaten.

I'm not worried.
Holloway (and I know some thing his opinions are actually worthless, but.....) summed it up rather well. When asked about us drawing too many - and having it pointed out that we've conceded late in the last two matches in a very disappointing fashion - his response was along the lines of, every team has a dodgy spell; if Brighton's dodgy spell is a couple of draws, they've not much to worry about.
I'm still disappointed with the last two results though, having been so close to winning both.

Our run does not get easier. Brentford away is always tough Ipswich at home. Very tough. Form team and then Wolves at home with only one winger. That's not an easy run of games.

After the huge disappointment of getting draws from the edge of wins in the last 2 games, can only see 0-2 Boro at the weekend.

A struggle for the playoffs from there.

Cruel injuries. We can only pick up more injuries, no injured players will miraculously return, even when playable they'll need to get match ready. I think we've been amazing, I think the team will play to the death. But injuries will rob us of the automatic p say I, I hope I'm apologising to everyone in May - and I will do if i'm wrong!

Strange time for this thread. We were 4 minutes away from beating Derby and 10 from beating QPR. One of those games a dodgy pen cost us and the other a ridiculously poor tackle. After Middlesborough we've got through our toughest run of the season and with a transfer window round the corner we're in great position.

Great post mate :)

We've had a lot of injuries, some aren't that far away from returning though by all accounts. I'm sure Bloom will take the gamble in January as well.

After 'Boro the matches start looking a little easier too.

It's not all bad news.

No they don't.

Brentford away versus the manager whose beaten us this season.

Then the inform division team Ipswich at home.

Just need to make sure the poster who started the woeful effort of a matchday thread against Walsall stays well away for the Brentford game !

A nasty feeling is what I get at the end of every game as we struggle to hang on to what we've got, not sure I've ever ever known a season where we seem to be under the cosh at the end of every game. It's really annoying that we can't close games down and the reason why I still don't believe that we can expect any more than the playoffs. Both Boro and Derby seem to be able to win comfortably even if they do suffer the occasional loss, they also have much more strength in depth than us.

Having said that I am still loving this season.

I said to myself at the beginning of the week that I'd have been happy for 5 points from the week
We're still on course for that
Agreed the last two draws have felt more like defeats because we've been ahead but it's still looking good IMHO

When I looked at the table just now, despite our weaker squad, draws, and tight winning matches we had more points than Derby after 21 games, were joint top of the table and have a home game against Boro on Saturday to go three points clear (potentially 5 points clear of Derby) at Christmas.
Where did it all go wrong ?
