For what it's worth, if you're searching Gmail then make sure you log on through the main site rather than something like 'mail' on your phone which accesses it for you. You will only get full and complete search results by accessing it through the Internet in my experience.

In all honesty mate that is a bad situation to have to deal with, case of your word against a former employee of the club. If you email Paul Barber I am sure he will oblige with a full refund but a bit of humble pie may have to be eaten by admitting you did not cancel the direct debit yourself.
The question what bugs me is why do you want to put your family through such dire and negative football when you couldn't stomach it yourself. Just kidding, bet it's great trying to get all the family behind the team! I went v Rochdale and it was a big improvement on last season although they did get very nervy towards the end of the game against a struggling side. Most pleasing thing was the players looked far better than last season and hopefully the best is yet to come.
Good luck with trying to get your money back, whatever the rights or wrongs the club need more supporters of your ilk.

I cancelled my season ticket with the club last season due to the negative style of Chris Hughton (cue giggling at the back)

But also because i wanted to bring the whole family occasionally, nevertheless spending at least what i did last season if not plenty more but just less often and around the stadium instead. So the CLUB WINS.

Just found out that to my HORROR the club have continually been taking my season ticket money out of my current account since i cancelled in March 2015.

So i called the club this morning and had a lengthy conversation with a programmed SUPPORT (now that's a laugh) service personnel lets call them R2-D2.

When i originally cancelled i had a follow up call from a pleasant young lad that understood my reason for cancelling and he did his best to persuade me otherwise but he understood that i would be coming back to the stadium less often but with more potential spend. (this nice lad has now left the club apparently)

I was sent a survey monkey questionnaire which i filled in and submitted back to the club.

R2-D2 said they have no record of it, i have checked all my emails and can not find there confirmation as i must have deleted it.

So R2-D2 will not open her mind to see of potential LOSS OF INCOME FOREVER even though she has evidence that i told the nice young lad in her CRM that i was cancelling and she is refusing to refund me without me providing evidence of a confirmation email which i don't now have.

Where is the common sense in rubbing a life long CUSTOMER up the wrong way by NOT returning my funds.

What would you do??? :censored::censored::censored:

My wife just told me when I completed the long survey monkey I did in on my nexus tablet so yes I would have sent it by gmail but i delete these mails regularly, why ?

because (as i found out) you can pretty much never truly delete a gmail email. do a google search on "recovering deleted gmail" or something. there's a form to fill to request recovery of deleted emails. i was 'cleaning up' my gmail account once and somehow managed to delete everything and then emptied the trash container (you checked there, right?). submitted this request thing to gmail and within a few hours everything was back in my inbox. no guarantees of course, but if you think you deleted it, it might be worth a shot.

Thanks mate, i have no problem with humble pie as you know. I just can not understand the mentality of the support service, i told her i have no proof as probably deleted it months ago yet i told her of my conversation with the last lad which she agreed i had had, saying that i was cancelling. She then can see i have not been in my ST seat all season but i have bought tickets elsewhere in the stadium.
I am a customer at the end of the day and have many future games in me and my family but because someone may have accidently lost my email i am into £300 notes for NO football.
As you well know i went to the Goldstone, Gillingham and Withdean when the club was struggling and the attitude now we are in the AMEX is tough titties mate. If they don't refund me they stand to lose a family full of customers because my kids won't be get the same Albion bug i did, just makes no common sense.

Shame on the Club i say just for £300 quid.

I agree mate. I would go straight to Mr Barber to see if he can sort it out. If you explain the difficulty you had convincing current and previous employers of the club of your predicament especially after putting more money into seats in other parts of the ground he surely would reimburse you with your "old season ticket money".
Not convinced about the argument the club could not reimburse your money as you have no proof of cancellation when you have had a conversation that has been clarified and proof you have been to other parts of the ground with your family.Would be surprised if Paul Barber did not sympathise with your predicament.

Thank, but no cigar:

Hello,

We received your request to recover deleted emails from your account. Unfortunately, the emails were permanently deleted, so we're not able to get them back for you.

We know this can be really frustrating, and we're sorry that we can't help this time around. To help prevent this from happening again, it's a good idea to double check the security of your account. We've put together some tools and tips in our "Security Checklist" article that you can read through in about 10 minutes to make sure the only one who has access to your Gmail is you.

If you'd like to better understand how deletion works in Gmail, or how long email stays in Trash before it's deleted (about a month), please read through our "Deleted Messages" article.

Thanks again for using Gmail,

The Google Support Team

If you cancelled your DD with your bank directly there is absolutely no way the club can have started a new one without your permission.

Why not? ???

All a company needs to set up a new direct debit are the customers bank details, (as Jeremy Clarkson found out!) - they don't need a signature or anything.

Then they have broken FCA rules. On request by either the customer or the customer's bank they have to produce either a signed authority for the DD or a recording of the call giving verbal confirmation.

So you're organised enough to clear old emails but not to check your bank account for six months ? Good grief

According to the BACS site with 'Paperless Direct Debit' it is a little more extreme than that:-

"originators cannot counter claim following receipt of an indemnity claim for the reason 'payer disputes having given authority' "

Sounds like i need to spell it out for you.

My current account has a floating balance, i get a regular text on a Friday to tell me the balance and it hardly ever changes by any more than 500-600 Pounds up or down neither is of concern for me because i pay enough in to cover my Direct debits that are coming out (so fixed amount goes in fixed amount comes out). Why would i need to check every transaction i have better thing to do you could call that organised.

Would you like my account no and sort code and password and you can see for yourself?

Thanks for your concern on how i run my finances.

Why would you delete an email confirming you had cancelled your ticket then not check your bank account for 6 months? Your life sounds like a ****ing shambles. And you run a business! Good grief.
