I wonder if Liam was given assurances of team strengthening before signing - hopefully! Good addition.

James Perch

Greg Halford

James Perch is a great shout.

Would like to see us in for Carlton Cole but wages would be an issue methinks.

Not Halford he isnt good enough for 1st choice and better cover will be available.

Just to be VERY clear, these are my tongue in cheek guesses in who we might sign (based on my current view that Hughton is a massive dullard) rather than my suggestions of who we SHOULD sign. God I hope to be wrong.

I know where you're coming from, and I desperately hope we're not going to become a sanctuary for crap former Newcastle United players, but Perch is a very strong shout, IMHO. Bound to be on his way from Wigan now they've gone down, presumably won't be that expensive, and well known to Hughton.

Another 30y old 'versatile' right back is just what we need.....

Except that Perch has played centre half I believe for quite some time now and has been Wigans players of the year for the last 2 season i heard..

I would be delighted to get him in.

I would sooner we sign ex Newcastle or Norwich players who CH has worked with rather than untried Div 2 or even Div 1 players generally.

If that's the case then I'm in...Clearly better versed in the Wigan system than me :). As a general rule i prefer a team of experts in given positions (with a couple of versatile ones for injuries / bench) than 4 or 5 who can play lots of positions (generally not as well)
