If you are looking at Conference, or Conference South / North, the same issues remain, just with less national coverage. If anything, the non-league clubs survival is even MORE to do with their community role. Involving kids in the club, getting families to come along, round the local schools doing training sessions with kids. Non-league clubs simply HAVE to work hard in the local community to try and get enough people through the turnstiles and paying the money to keep them afloat.

Whatever level you look at, until you drop to amateur football with players paying subs, you are talking about a business that wouldn't welcome the negative publicity that signing him will bring.

Yep that's right - but I would hope outside campaigners would leave him be if he rejoined somewhere below Conf North.

Their Vice President is one Stephen Vaughan, first person to fail the FA's fit and proper test, committed large scale VAT fraud which led to the demise of Chester City, and was jailed in 2011 for punching a policeman and breaking his cheek bone. The less said about his Liverpool connections the better.

I wonder which scummy League 1 club it is that he is signing for.

Surely not Sheffield United after the reaction to his training with them?

I really hope it is not Crawley.

According to a tweet I've got it IS Crawley (sorry, I don't seem to be able to embed tweets here - new technology confuses old git) comes from a Twitter account called 'Transfer News Live'.

How reliable that is though......

Oldham Athletic by all accounts. They've been linked with him before and the fella on Sky News just named them before quickly backtracking.

He'd do himself a big favour if he stopped denying it and showed a bit of remorse.
