Prob so an engineer in the tower can give an advisory visual, Me might have no lock lights on flight deck or even a red unlock light...Just guesses

That's done a low tower flyby this could def be a gear issue, same procedure back in 97 at Heathrow, the suits will be in the tower with bino's

Some people on twitter are speculating that photos shows the rear right landing gear isn't fully deployed. Also looks like the plane has gone around again. Might have flown past the tower for them to do a visual inspection of the gear before clearing it to land.

I can't begin to imagine the trauma those on board must be experiencing. Poor sods.

Probably my biggest fear about flying is precisely this; that the wheels will jam and refuse to drop as we approach landing.

The undercarrige doors are still open so if I remember correctly that means manually lowered ( or at least it did non L1011 Tristar) the doors would not close after emergency lowering
