There's never been anything wrong with CMS' first touch, that's an NSC myth.
Although, on the other hand, CMS' third touch is absolutely appalling and is an embarrassment to all professional footballers.

Is this a subtle Stat gag? CMS's first touch is absolutely diabolical, it's like his foot is shaped like a toblerone.

Exactly the way I see it, awful first touch

Today was the best I've seen him play in a long, long time.

Looked more of a threat than Bent who to me is a bit of a luxury player, he will score you goals no doubt but when you go 2-0 down he won't keep putting the effort in, work rate wise.

No I appreciate I'm not following the herd, but bear this in mind the next time you're watching CMS.

For a second division footballer his first touch is ok, not great but no better or worse than most of our team.
His second touch is iffy, because he can never shoot or pass.
This in turn leads to an appalling third touch.

I understand my defence of him, isn't great:-
'He's not shitehouse when you say he is, but he's even more shitehouse a few seconds later'

But it's a symptom of a player who hasn't been able to shoot or pass the moment the ball arrives at him.

Same old CMS missed with his left & then his head (offside) does he or the training staff ever practice these skills?

Please don't try to dilute my opinion by suggesting I'm following the herd. I've watched enough football in my time to have an understanding of the basic skills required by a professional footballer, and in my opinion control is simply not in CMS's locker. His movement is too awkward and mechanical, see when Dunk drills a cross field ball at pace to the side line to Benett or Colunga, never any danger they won't kill it with the first touch and advance with the second. When any type of pass is played to CMS it's a complete lottery as to what will happen, occasionally he gets it right but more often than not he makes a complete hash of it.

Recalling him from his loan was a masterstroke. Had it been COG or Baldock on for the injured Bent we would probably have lost. CMS appears to give sh1t about this club and take up some dangerous positions.

Thought he had a good game today even his first touch was good. Would of liked to see him upfront with Bent.

Better today than I have seen him for ages

Agree with both of these. Plus he actually won a couple of headers, and when he tried to trap the ball, it didn't ping six feet away from him.

Him and Murray would be AMAZING.

Oh no i wasn't questioning your opinion.
My intention was owning the fact I know I'm not just left field here, but that I'd walked through that field and 3 others.
I know I'm in a field on my own.

Why play him alone upfront ?

Pointless

I noticed even in the second half Reading were playing wit two up front, CMS did well yesterday and as ever gives it a lot, had the beating of Ferdinand every time trouble is, he holds the ball up for ....... that's it no one with him. best striker at the club and always provides interest when he plays. His spirit and movement aided our recovery yesterday. if Bent is injured we have one striker at the club, reminds me of this time last year, we havn't progressed have we.

I think because cms runs around like hes downed 10 cans of red bull it panics defenders and pulls them out of position which opens play up for our players ,trouble is they generally dont take advantage of this.

Bent either wasnt fit in the first place or got his groin injury early on as he was holding it for some 15 - 20 mins before going down injured then going off.
