As we've been speculating for some days it's all about saving costs, Hyppia resigned on his terms because we couldn't afford to pay him off, it's the most likely reason we didn't sack him sooner.

Cant believe people are celebrating; the timing could not have been worse, no replacement until the New Year, therefore another wasted transfer window as there will be on one to chose the players they want. Bent will not re-sign for us now. It is potentially a disaster and I really fear for our safety in this division. Still, as long as a vocal group of fans are happy.......

Bent doesn't give a shit who the manager is so long as he gets paid and keeps getting a tasty goal scoring bonus. He wasn't ever going to sign permanently.

I agree that it is too soon to celebrate as no one knows who will take over but who ever it is can't do a lot worse, can they?

Brighton & Hove Albion have confirmed they have accepted the resignation of first-team manager Sami Hyypia.

Chairman Tony Bloom said, "Sami offered his resignation, and we reluctantly accepted earlier today.

"Sami has worked extremely hard since joining the club last summer. Despite some good performances, including most recently at Wolves, results haven't gone as well as we all had hoped and expected.

"Sami is an incredibly honourable man. He remains a hugely respected and very popular figure at our club. He has decided to step down for the benefit of the team and the club.

"We are all very disappointed, but we respect Sami’s decision and we all wish him well for the future."

In the interim, Nathan Jones, assistant manager, will take charge of the team for the Boxing Day fixture against Reading.

The club will offer no further comment at this stage.

Well if this goes through, it saddens me. I know he wasn't providing our team with a winning mentality or causing great cheer among the masses, but I liked him for all his inexpressiveness and hidden intention. I hope he finds a decent position with the necessary experienced support for him to have another go at it somewhere.

I've got more chance of a night of debauchery with Mila Kunis than we have of attracting Pulis.
