Not (according to the club)

Seems reports of his booking v Cardiff were greatly exaggerated so now on 4 for the season not 5

Assume the yellow card that was shown to Greer in the Cardiff game was withdrawn by the ref then, on the basis that he booked Greer in error.

That can be the only possible explanation. I record all stats related to games, and because some sources didn't show Greer as being booked against Cardiff, but some did, I re-watched the video (the entire 90 minutes are on the Cardiff player site). The referee definitely shows the yellow card to Greer (as Noone is about to come on), and then also shows the card to JFC about 25 seconds later.

If Greer wasn't booked (in the referees report), it must have been a mis-identification.

I remember that incident. I thought at the time he accidentally booked Greer. Thought it was weird booking him when JFC felled the player but thought it was dissent. Ref seemed to do a bit of pointing then showed to JFC so think he meant to book him in the first place. That's the wise words I offered up at the time anyway....

When the ref booked Greer vs Cardiff, Greer pointed out to him that JFC committed the offence, not him. The ref then booked JFC and presumably therefore withdrew the one he had shown to Greer.

Ah I now remember the incident and Greer was definitely mistakenly booked v Cardiff and then the ref took it back and booked JFC instead. So by my calcs they are both still on four bookings.

So back to the original thread title. They could both be banned against Spurs then if they both get a booking on Saturday.

So they have until 30th Nov I think to avoid a 5th booking, unlikely at their current rate, so they need to avoid both getting booked in the same match.

The cynic in me thinks that Greer and Dunk are going to both get booked on Saturday.....we'll see.

I hope they do as we need them for league games, which is our priority at the moment, and Spurs could possibly beat us easily with or without them so lets lose them for that game. Or at least one of them for Hughes to cover then the other one get booked against Spurs.
